January 8, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries ODESSA — William L. Wagnon, 91, of Odessa passed away Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He was born December 14, 1908, in Sidney to John and Sara Wagnon. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Terry Pierce officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Wagnon married Reba Dee Lancaster Nov. 22, 1930, in Marietta, Okla. They moved to Odessa in 1950 from May. Mr. Wagnon retired from the Texas Highway Department Dec. 14, 1973. He loved the outdoors, working in the garden and making things grow. He attended TarIeton State University. Mr. Wagnon was preceded in death by his wife, Reba Wagnon, Sept. 15, 1999. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Joan and Coy Coe of McCamey; sons and their wives, Billy and Lynell Wagnon of Odessa and Eddy and Gloria Wagnon of Sunnyvale, Calif.; grandchildren and spouses, Rick and Sandy Coe, Nan and Kim Coe, Cyndi and Pat Cole and Cheri and Joel Dewbre; great-grandchildren, Seth Coe, Sara Coe and Garrett Dewbre and Rebecca Cole; brother, Jack Wagnon of Odessa; sisters, Marie Works of Dallas and Geneva Prater of Brownwood. (www.wilsonfuneral.com) _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA — Mary Kathleen Allison, 60, of Odessa died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at her residence. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Roy Ford officiating. She was born July 27, 1939, in DeKalb. She married Richard Allison Jan. 12, 1958, in Odessa. Mrs. Allison moved to Odessa in 1951 from DeKalb. She was an avid women’s fastpitch softball player of the 1960’s, many times overall tournament, all city player. She loved her grandkids, nephews and nieces very much. She lived life to the fullest. Survivors include her husband, Richard Allison; sons, Todd Allison and Wade Allison, both of Odessa; brothers, Tommy Caraway of Simms and Joe Caraway of Texarkana; sisters, Debbie Rinker of Seminole, Marguita Caraway of Simms and Dotty Cato of Huntsville; five grandchildren, Brittany Allison, Meagan Allison, Brady Allison, Cody Allison, Ashley Allison, all of Odessa; and nephew and niece, Nickolas Rinker and Katie Rinker, both of Seminole. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Ora Lankford MIDLAND — Services for Ora Lankford, 90 years of age, of Midland, have been set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel with the Rev. Bob Porterfield officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Pipkin Funeral Home. Ora Lankford passed away on Jan. 5, 2000, at a hospital in Crane. Ora was born on October 13, 1909, in Denton, Texas, to James Andrew Robertson and Martha Bensen. She moved to Midland in the 1920s and worked as a meat wrapper at M System in Midland for 38 years before retiring. On Oct. 2, 1940, she married the Iate Homer Lankford. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by one brother, Bill Robertson, of Midland; and a niece and her daughters, Dorris Swinney, and LaTanya Swinney and Sicrita Robinson, all of Odessa; a nephew, Jesse, and wife, Geneva Buchanan of Midland; and other relatives.
