January 13, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries Lila Beth Brown LONDON, Texas — Lila Beth Brown, 69, of Junction died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. She retired after working many years at the Eagles’ Lodge in Odessa and Lum’s Bar B Que in Junction. She was born Oct. 25, 1930, in Menard County. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lila Irene Ivy, and father, George Alva Pearl. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Pope Dinsmore of Fairhope, Ala., and Dana Hively of Junction; son, Michael Pope of Fredericksburg; two granddaughters, Charity Dinsmore of Fairhope, Ala., and Crystal Hively of Junction; and grandson, James Dinsmore of Fairhope, Ala. Graveside services for Lila Beth Brown will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15 at London Cemetery in London, Texas. Memorials may be made to Vista Care Hospice, 420 Water Street, Suite 104, Kerrville, Texas, 78028; American Cancer Society, P.O. Overby Funeral Home of Kerrville is in charge of arrangements. _________________________________________________________________ Frances Iantha Wagoner ODESSA — Frances Iantha Wagoner, 97, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000. She was born Sept. 14, 1902, in Cisco. Services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. lantha was married to Hugh B. Wagoner who preceded her in death in 1987. They came to Odessa in 1938 and established Wagoner Machine & Supply Co. Iantha enjoyed playing bridge, knitting, needlepoint, sewing, gardening and refinishing antiques. In recent years, she enjoyed being in her backyard with her pets and basking in the sunshine. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh; and daughter, Patricia Morrison-Schleininger. Survivors include her son, Dan D. Wagoner and wife Judy of Odessa; grandsons, Michael Wagoner and wife Teri of Arlington, Glen Wagoner and wife Elizabeth of Denton, David Morrison and wife Esther of San Angelo, Paul Morrison and wife Marsha of Kansas City, Mo., and Mark Morrison of Liberty, Mo.; and five great-grandchildren, Justin and Megan Wagoner, Christopher and Rebekah Wagoner and Hannah Morrison. Pallbearers will be James C. Harrison, Charles Evans, Steve Horton, Charles Ross, Ronald Hilliard and Barney Barnes. The family suggests memorials be made to the Boy Scouts of America Memorial Fund, 204 N. Grant Ave., Odessa, Texas, 79761. Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Fred N. Whittaker ODESSA — Fred N. Whittaker, 86, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born July 2, 1916. Memorial graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Watkins officiating. Mr. Whittaker was a captain in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Mozell Hamilton in 1948 in Houston. They moved to Odessa in 1964. He retired from El Paso Products. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mozelle Whittaker in August 1999. He is survived by many dear friends at the Parks Methodist Retirment Village. Arrangements are by Frank W.
