February 02, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ Kathleen Campbell McKINNEY — Kathleen Campbell, 73, of Plano passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at her residence in Plano. She was born January 17, 1927, in Sherman, the daughter of Orin David and Gladys Leverette Buchanan. She married William F. Campbell Sept. 19, 1944, in Durant, Okla. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Fairview-Maple Grove Cemetery Chapel in Denison with the Rev. Wes Lackey officiating. Mrs. Campbell is survived by her daughters, Connie Campbell of San Angelo and Rebecca Castle of Port Townsend, Wash.; grandsons, Tim Reynolds of San Angelo and Michael Castle of Port Townsend, Wash.; granddaughters, Ann Lann of Chicago, Ill., Elizabeth Castle of Longmont, Colo., and Sarah Castle of Port Townsend; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill Buchanan of Greenville and Kenith Buchanan of Cartwright, Okla.; sister, Joyce Essary of Garland. She is also survived by a beloved friend and companion, Hans Jens of Plano. She was preceded in death by her husband. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Vista Care Hospice Group at 1140 Empire Central, Suite 235, Dallas, TX 75247. Arrangements are under the direction of Belew Funeral Home in McKinney. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA — Haskell B. "Red" Ladyman, 85, of Odessa passed away Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at Dearings Nursing Home in Odessa. He was born March 13, 1914, in Hugo, Okla. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Odessa with the Revs. Gayle Reeves and Terry Pierce officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Ladyman married Ludie Adcock Aug. 5, 1933, in Antlers, Okla. He and his family moved to Odessa in 1958 from Crane. He was a lease operator for Gulf for 32 years, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church. He loved to spend time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was preceded in death by his son, H.D. Ladyman; brother, Burl Ladyman; and his parents, J.W. and Mona Ladyman. Survivors are his wife, Ludie Ladyman of Odessa; two daughters, Robbie Hess and husband Bob of Crane and Jewell Brewer and her husband, Dale, of Odessa; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Ladyman of Chickasha, Okla.; sisters, Kathryn Dellinger of Antlers, Okla., and Billie Crooks of Arlington, Ore.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Rusty Hess, Darrell Hess, Steve Ladyman, David Brewer, Steve Roberts, Scott Chadson and Mickey Coponiti. Arrangements are by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. (www.wilsonfuneral.com) _________________________________________________________________ MIDLAND — Pauline Clarice O’Neal was born July 4, 1921, in Stamford to Thomas R. Wiley Sr. and Susan Cox Wiley, and died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at her home at the age of 78. Having grown up in Stamford, she left and attended nursing school at Scott and White School of Nursing in Temple, graduating in 1941. In October 1942, she married D.E. "Dan" O’Neal, who was in the service and stationed at Fort Hood. During his time of service, he was stationed at locations in Texas, Louisiana and California. Following her husband’s discharge from the Army, and while Dan was in school at Texas A&M. Pauline, who previously had been a surgical nurse at Santa Fe Railway Hospital in Temple, worked as the school nurse at Texas A&M in College Station. Her nursing career over the years also would include being office nurse for Dr. Lunn and Dr. Payne in Odessa for a number of years as well as serving as County Health Nurse in El Paso. Polly, as she was known by her many friends, had many interests and hobbies. She was an avid gardener and served as president of the garden club both when she lived in Odessa, as well as when she lived in Amarillo. Additionally, she enjoyed crafts and sewing, delighting in making things for those she loved. Golf was also a pastime in which she was involved actively for many years, and she worked diligently on the tournaments for the West Texas-New Mexico Senior Golf Association. Mrs. O’Neal was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas R. Wiley Sr. and Susan Cox Wiley; and two brothers, Thomas R. Wiley, Jr. and James Wiley. She is survived by her husband, D.E. "Dan" O’Neal of Midland; her daughter, Pat Barton and husband David of Odessa; her granddaughter, Tracy Leak and husband Jeff of Midland; and great-grandchildren, Russell and Kayla Leak of Midland. Visitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ellis Funeral Home. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at Wilshire Park Baptist Church with Paster Steve Tims officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. The family requests memorials be directed to Hospice of Midland Inc., P.O. Box 2621, Midland, TX 79702 or to the charity of one’s choice. Pallbearers will be: Jay Cox; Vaughn Cox; J.V.
