She was born Jan. 26, 1924, in Nigeria to Mr. and Mrs. Peter N. Cobham. Mrs. Njemanze was a very loving person, and with love she taught school for 37 years until her retirement in 1985. She was joined in marriage with Eze Anumaku Alexius Njemanze Sept. 16, 1943. Together, they raised fourteen children of their own, seven boys and seven girls. She was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings and her husband. She was brought to the United States June 2, 1990, by her children after the death of her husband in 1988. She lived in Oklahoma, San Angelo and Odessa with her children. She was a very Ioving mother who served as a pillar and source of strength for her children. She was a Catholic and one who strongly believed that with prayers and faith in God, you can make miracles happen. Her love for children and crusade for motherless children while in Nigeria was her greatest hobby. She loved to cook, sing and babysit her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. After raising fourteen children of her own, one would think she would be tired of children, but she could not last a full day without the company of her grand- and great-grandchildren. We have lost our best friend and our support, but we know she is resting in a better place free of all pains. We love you Mom and hope to see you in heaven. Left to mourn her death are daughters, Stella Neboh (a pharmacist at Albertson’s on 8th Street) and her husband, Eugene Neboh Sr. of Odessa, and Esther Efiong of Nigeria and five daughters still in Nigeria; sons, Charles Njemanze and wife, Sharon, of San Angelo and Gabriel Efiong and wife, Beverly, of La Marque and five other sons in Nigeria; 50 grandchildren including, Eugene Neboh Jr., Felix Neboh, Richard Neboh and Dexter Neboh, all of Odessa, and Sharanda El-Masri and husband, Basil, Kashana Horst and husband, Tim, Daniella Njemanze and Samuel Njemanze, all of San Angelo; 10 great-granddaughters, including Miya El-Masri of San Angelo; three great-great-grandchildren.
