March 08, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA — Bobby Oliver Boyles was born Feb. 10, 1933, in Breckenridge, born again in 1966 and went to Heaven March 6, 2000. He was survived by his wife, Marzelle Boyles; children, Gaila Kay Barnhart, Timothy Paul Boyles and wife, Debbie, and Kimberly Dee Gaston; nine grandchildren, Wayne Barnhart Jr., Lacey Kay Bear, Holly Dee Gaston, Christopher David Gaston, Matthew Davis Gaston, Rocky Lee Holtzclaw, Elizabeth Gail Boyles, Joseph Paul Boyles and Rodney Keith Holtzclaw; one great-grandchild, Katlyn Renee Bear; five brothers and three sisters, Franklin David Boyles, Leona Moffitt, Lucille Smith, James Roy Boyles, Polly Stevens, Wave McKenna Boyles, Don Alton Boyles and James Bryce. Bobby Boyles was a veteran, a Little League baseball coach, umpire and commissioner. He was self-employed with Tidy Mat. Bobby was involved with Meals On Wheels, church activities and raised funds for missions. He was a dedicated member to University Park Baptist Church. Bobby loved many and was loved by many. He never met a stranger. His greatest joy in life was when someone came to know Jesus as their personal savior. Bobby was a loyal, generous, hardworking man. Everyone’s life that he touched, he made their life better. The gift he gave and taught everyone was love. What great hope we have when we meet with Bobby again on the other side. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2000, at University Park Baptist Church at 87th Street and Golder Avenue with the Rev. Johnny Witherspoon officiating. Services are under the care of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Survivors include his mother, Shara Donna Little of Odessa; grandparents, Audrey and Bill Heard of Odessa; Tommy and Paula Wemken of Odessa; great-grandmother, Katherine Wemken of Hermaleigh; and uncle Ty Wemken of Odessa; aunts and uncles, Mike Stanley of Pace, Fla., Billy Wemken, Michael Heard and Eric Heard, all of Odessa, Tammy Wemken of Tennessee, Julia Sizemore of Keller. _________________________________________________________________ Connie Myrtle Lightfoot ODESSA — Connie Myrtle Lightfoot, 88 of San Angelo died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at her residence. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2000, at Southgate Church of Christ. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Lamesa Memorial Park with Willis Dykes officiating. Arrangements by Johnson Funeral Home. She was born April 2, 1911 in Indian Territory, Okla., to Wiley Jackson and Floda Caron Dykes. She was a homemaker and a member of Southgate Church of Christ. She married C.H. "Pat" Lightfoot Feb. 4, 1932, in Fannin County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat, March 7, 1990; grandson, John Lightfoot in 1983; her parents, three sisters and one brother. She is survived by sons, J. W. Lightfoot and wife, Velma, of Sulphur Springs and Jim Lightfoot and wife, Donna Kay, of Lamesa; daughters, Edith Graham and husband, Bob, Betty Scott and husband, Art, all of San Angelo; grandchildren, Lafonda and Del Overton of Lapeer, Mich., Rene’ and Philip Stroud of Hilo, Hawaii, Rea and Rosanne Scott of San Angelo, Wenoka and Jeff Carpenter of Sulphur Springs, Darryl and Rita Scott of Fort Stockton, Phyllis and Terry Gibson of San Angelo, Steve and Kim Lightfoot of Carrollton, Julie and Javier Lucio of Frisco and Laurie and John Nix of Oklahoma City; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy Dykes and wife, Ruth, of Odessa and Willis Dykes and wife, Doris, of Wiley; sister, Pauline Collard of Gunter; a number of nieces and nephews. Fred Davila officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Self died Thursday, March 2, 2000, in Ardmore, Okla. She was born July 12, 1952, in Odessa. She was Baptist. Survivors include her daughters, Stacie Nabarrette and husband, Mike, and Stormy Self, all of Odessa; a son, John Self of Odessa; sisters, Debbie Froelich of Alabama and Pat Holmes of Mesquite; a brother, Sonny Martin of Marshall; three grandchildren, Rena Jo and Mikey Nabarrette of Odessa, and Paige Downing of Mississippi; and husband, David J. Wilson of Odessa. Arrangements are entrusted with Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel. _________________________________________________________________ LULING — Florence Celesta Northcutt, 91, of Odessa died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at O’Bannon Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Luling City Cemetery. She was born April 19, 1908, in Floresville. She married Thomas Edward Northcutt Dec. 19, 1930. Mrs. Northcutt moved to Odessa in 1959 from Sweetwater. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Thomas E. Northcutt of Odessa; daughters, Jenna Guest and husband, Calvin, of Bryan and Blanche Lang and husband, Bill Lang Sr., of Odessa; six grandchildren, Gwen Bruchez and Gary Guest, both of Bryan, Tomi Calmes of Lubbock, Bill Lang Jr. of Kingwood, Steven Lang of Houston and Kimberly Layne of Pearland; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
