March 18, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ Amelia S. Velasquez FORT STOCKTON — Amelia S. Velasquez, 68, died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fort Stockton. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Fort Stockton. Amelia was born March 6, 1932, in Sanderson and was a longtime resident of Fort Stockton before moving to San Angelo. She was married to Ismael Velasquez Nov. 29, 1953, in Sanderson. She was retired from Ethicon Inc., and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Angelo. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Ben Joel Velasquez in 1996. She is survived by her husband, Ismael Velasquez of San Angelo; sons, Ruben Velasquez and wife, Tina, of Austin and Luis Velasquez and wife, Sylvia, of League City; sister, Pauline Gonzales of Fort Stockton; brother, Rosendo Silvas of Monahans; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. _________________________________________________________________ Copyright © 2000 Odessa American.
