March 22, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ MIDLAND — Douglas G. Schumpert Sr., 64, of Odessa passed away Sunday, March 19, 2000, in a local hospital. Mr. Schumpert was born March 12, 1936, in Georgetown. He married Jerry Anne Howell May 3, 1958, in Odessa. She preceded him in death March 27, 1992. He had been a long time resident of Odessa and had worked for several businesses. Most notably, he had worked over 10 years as a service adviser for Sewell Motor Company until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Prospectors Club and the Moose Lodge and was a former reserve deputy for the Ector County Sheriffs Department. He will be remembered as an avid University of Texas fan. He is survived by two sons, Douglas G. Schumpert Jr. and his wife, Vicky, of Irving, and Dana Schumpert and his wife, Mistie, of Odessa; two daughters, Darla Schumpert Tilghman and her husband, Greg, and Angel Schumpert Morgan and her husband, Clifford, all of Odessa; one brother, Bill Schumpert of San Angelo; one sister, Marjorie Frizzell of Bangs; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Tiffany, D.J., Josh, Dion, Bethany, Savana, Mackenzie and Abigail. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2000, in the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom VanHoose officiating.
