"Buddy" Freeman ODESSA — Buddy was born June 14, 1938, in Loraine to Woodrow and Lota McAnnalley Freeman. He passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bob Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Services are under the care of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Mr. Freeman came to Odessa at an early age. He served in the Army and after coming back to Odessa, he had worked as a truck driver and also worked in the oilfield as a mechanic. He was an avid fisherman. Survivors include his wife, Anna Freeman of Odessa; son, Billy Ray Freeman of Mississippi; daughter, Bonnie Lucille Uballe of Odessa; his brothers, James and Mike Freeman, both of Odessa; sister, Beverly Blackburn of Odessa; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA — W.E. "Mac" McCulloch, 90, of Odessa died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Sam Jordan officiating. He was born Oct. 4, 1909, in Weatherford, Okla. Mr. McCulloch moved to Odessa in 1932 from Chandler, Okla. He was a retired manager of a Phillips 66 service station. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and a member of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge and Odessa Tabernacle Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He delivered for Meals On Wheels for 10 years. He was preceded in death by two wives. Survivors include his stepsons, Bill Prewitt and wife, Ruth, of Roswell, N.M., Ben Prewitt of Brownwood, Phillip Couch and wife, Susan, of Amarillo and Roger Couch and wife, Alisa, of Chico; stepdaughter, Faith Ann Neal and husband, Alvin, of Crowley; niece, Sue Fisher Adams of Midland; sister-in-law, Verna McCulloch of Chandler, Okla.; McCulloch of Chandler, Okla.; several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Ocon, 47, of Odessa died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Bernard Getigan officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. She was born Sept. 30, 1952, in Crane. She married Santiago Ocon in August 1979. Mrs. Ocon was a longtime resident of Odessa. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her mother, Aurora W. Rodriguez; and sister, Anabella Montaneze. Survivors include her husband, Santiago Ocon of Odessa; sons, Efrain Baeza and Ralph Baeza, both of Odessa; brothers, Sabino Garcia of McCamey and Eloy Rodriguez of Odessa; sisters, Bernie Florez of Houston, Abelia Espinoza of Snyder and Irma Wilks of Odessa; two grandchildren, Vannessa Baeza and Raphael Baeza Jr., both of Odessa. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA — Wanda Stanley, 67, of Odessa died Thursday, March 23, 2000, at New Horizons Nursing Home. The family will meet with friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Clydel Chapman officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. She was born Feb. 19, 1933, in Gail. She married James Robert Stanley May 7, 1958, in Roswell, N.M. He preceded her in death Oct. 29, 1999. Mrs. Stanley moved to Odessa in 1955 from Balmorhea. She had been a resident of New Horizon Nursing Home for the past five years. She had been active in various community work such as Meals On Wheels, Door of Hope Mission, Salvation Army and Christian Women’s Club. She loved to fish and be with her family. She took pride and joy in her grandchildren. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She started the bereavement program at the church. She attended First Baptist Church in Blackwell while at the lake. Survivors include her sons, Marvin Stanley and wife, Sandy, of Odessa and Raymond Stanley and wife, Kelly, of Odessa; daughters, Towana Jo Bell and husband, Roy, of Odessa and Tyann Niemann and husband, Steve, of Odessa; mother, Edna Belle Haney Cook of Big Spring; brothers, Pecos Cook of Balmorhea and Jack Cook of Odessa; sisters, Juanita Rogers of Lubbock, Dolly Bryant of Big Spring, Vera "Sissy" Martin of Big Spring and Linda Armstead of Levelland; 10 grandchildren, Danielle Swinson Bell, Elizabeth Stanley, Crystal Stanley, Tiffany Niemann, Ruth Stanley, Nicole Niemann, Doug Stanley, Stephanie Niemann, Shawn Niemann and Landry Stanley.
