April 19, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries Obituaries Index Home _________________________________________________________________ Lueta Eloise Cooper ODESSA — Lueta Eloise Cooper passed away April 17, 2000. She was born March 21, 1919, in Lamar County, the daughter of Mamie Turner Binnion and Lewis C. Binnion. Her public education was at Prairie View School near Seminole, Okla. She came to Odessa in 1938 and married Bill R. Cooper of Odessa in Midland, Nov. 10, 1940. She served as a civilian employee at the Quartermaster Laundry, Midland Field, U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945. She worked as secretary of Gale Erwin Pond at both East Elementary (Lamar) and Alamo Elementary from 1948 through 1959. She retired from Ector County Independent School District in 1973. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and two sisters. She is survived by brother, Dayle A Binnion, and wife, Wanda Jean, of Midland; sister, Saundra Belknap, and husband, James Harold, of Odessa; nephews, David Belknap and wife, Sheila, of Odessa, Mark Belknap and wife, Debbie, of Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Paul Belknap and wife, Karla, of Orange, Texas, and Douglas Binnion and wife, Janene, of Midland; nieces, Myra Sutterfield and husband, Wayne, of Prescott, Ariz., Nancy Todd and husband, Randy, of Denton, Jamie Belknap of Odessa, Stephanie Potter and husband, Dwayne, of Odessa, and Betsy Bell and husband, Josh, of Midland; numerous grand-nephews and nieces. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Barry Owens officiating.
