Alvarado, 72 years of age, passed away on April 21, 2000, a Medical Center Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born on October 15, 1927, in Franklin, Texas. A retired oilfield laborer and a Catholic. Mr. Alvarado was preceded in death by his brothers, Ernesto T. Alvarado, Jesus Alvarado; sisters, Felipa A. Estrada and Anita Cadena. He is survived by his wife. Eloisa Aguilar Alvarado; sons, Fernando A. Alvarado and his wife Dolores, Roman A. Alvarado and his wife Irma, Johnny A. Alvarado, Luis A. Alvarado, Ricky A. Alvarado and his wife Cindy, all of Odessa; daughters, Olivia A. Flores and her husband Jimmy of Lubbock, Seffe A. Luna and her husband Mike of Dallas; stepdaughter, Mary O’Brien of Lubbock, step-sons, Ramon Flores Jr. of San Antonio and Gilbert A. Flores of Lubbock; sisters, Bruna Perez, Rosa Cadena, both of Bakersfield Ca.; 26 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. A rosary will be recited on Sunday evening at 7 p.m. at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Monday April 24, 2000, at 2 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Reverend Gilbert Rodriguez. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Services by Odessa Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Anne Boyd Folsom Caldwell ODESSA — Services for Anne Boyd Folsom Caldwell, 76, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church with the Rev. Michael Jasper officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Teague Cemetery in Teague. Mrs. Caldwell died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born Aug. 7, 1923, in Teague to Frank & Richie Boyd Folsom. Mrs. Caldwell attended SMU as a piano major. She was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She moved to Odessa in 1958. She was a longstanding member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the Altar Guild and the Daughters of the King. She was also a member of the Junior League, Odessa Book Club and Wednesday Book Club. She was an award-winning actress in many productions of the Permian Playhouse and also served on the Board of Directors. She was former president of the Symphony Guild and past chairwoman of the National Young Artists Competition. She also delivered Meals on Wheels. Survivors include a son, Robert Clayton Caldwell and wife Constance of Brownsboro; daughter, Martha Rebecca Keleher and husband William Paul of Fairfax, VA; granddaughter, Kimberly Anne Keleher of Fairfax, VA; grandson, Ryan Patrick Keleher of Falls Church, VA; and a cousin, Mary Ann Smith of Dallas. She was born on October 19, 1918 in Hunt County, Texas. She was a member of Sherwood Church of Christ. Mrs. Lewis is survived by her husband, Elbert Lewis of Odessa; a son, Raymond D. Lewis and his wife Diana of Levelland; daughters, Sherry D. Rose and her husband Don of Midland, Paula J. Hopper of Gardendale, Carol B. Collins of Mineral Wells; brother, Joel A. Adcock of Midland; sisters, Ruth Ellerd of Memphis, Texas and Lavern Hamel of Oklahoma City, Okla.; grandchildren, Sheleen Avery, Shannon Copeland, Shelia Nail, Dale Sullins, Dee Sullins, Daniel Nail. Navarrette, 48 years of age, passed away on April 21, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital after an illness. He as born on August 4, 1951 in Pecos. Mr. Navarrette was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Estella Navarrette and he is survived by his wife, Carol Navarrette of Odessa; sons, Mingo T. Navarrette, of Odessa, Gabriel T. Navarrette of Tecumseh, Mich., Chris G. Larez of Odessa; daughters, Suzanne E. Navarrette and Erica M. Navarrette, both of Odessa, Raquel N. Bosque of Tecumseh, Mich.; brothers, Luis Nabarrette, Henry Navarrette and Jesus Sandate, all of Odessa; sisters, Linda Whicker, Esperanza Rodriquez, Hortensia Wiley, Rachel Rodriguez, Maria L. Williams, 76, of Odessa, died April 19, 2000, at Avalon Place Nursing Center. He was born Dec. 2, 1923, in Waldrop. He married Eugenia "Jean" Lunsford Sept. 15, 1956, in Lovington, N.M. Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Chapel Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Law officiating. Inurnment followed at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. Mr. Williams was a World War II veteran serving in the Army. He then moved to Odessa in 1946 from Breckenridge and had been employed by Tom Brown Drilling in Midland for 25 years. He was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church and was a lifetime member of VFW No. 4372. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Clint and Ada Williams; brother, Lloyd Williams and sister, Mae Crowell. He is survived by his wife, Eugenia "Jean" Williams; son, and daughter-in-law, Charles R. and Connie Williams; daughter, JoTonnea Williams, grandsons, Korey Puffinbarger, Ryan Williams, all of Odessa, and Justin Lackey of Arlington; and granddaughters, Krystal Moore of Monahans and Toyie Williams of Big Spring. He is also survived by brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Mable Williams of Odessa; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Sylvia and James White of Odessa, Doris Callahan of Breckenridge and Peggy Funderberg of Breckenridge; stepbrother, Billy Richardson and his wife, Billie of Odessa; stepsisters, Bernice McMann of Odessa and Patsy Labelle and her husband, Robert, of Arkansas; and 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Jimmie Christine Preslar _________________________________________________________________ Jimmie Christine Preslar MIDLAND — Among a loving circle of family and friends, Jimmie Christine Preslar joined Our Lord In Heaven on April 20, 2000, after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial celebration of her life will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2000, at the West Kentucky Baptist Church in Midland, 1502 W. Kentucky. She was born May 9, 1922, in Girard, to Ivy and Sweetie Wells and moved to Pecos in February 1923. She graduated from Pecos High School in 1939 and attended International Business College in El Paso. She married Cliff Preslar June 5, 1940, a union lasting until his death in 1994. Cliff served as justice of the peace for Reeves County for several years. Three sons were born from this union, James Clifford Jr. "Sonny", Randel Richard "Randy" and Kris Wayne. Jimmie went to work for the City of Pecos in 1951 as bookkeeper and later was appointed city secretary. She held that position until she retired in 1969. She went to municipal accounting school in Austin and set up the municipal accounting system. She also served as state registrar for births and deaths and indexed the minute books. She served as acting city manager three times and was responsible for the codification of the ordinances, a task which had never been done in Pecos. In 1975, Jimmie was appointed Reeves County tax assessor-collector, where she served 1987. During this time, she received several awards, including lifetime membership in the Tax Assessor-Collector’s Association of Texas. She retired early to take care of her husbands falling health. In spite of her numerous personal accomplishments, Jimmie’s greatest pride was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include sons, Sonny Preslar and wife, Linda, of Fairfield Bay, Ark., Kris Preslar and wife, Linda, of Waco; seven grandchildren, Jim Preslar of Oklahoma City, Sweetie Thompson of Midland, Christie McFadden Of Bono, Ark., Brenda Parmentier of Union, Mo., Rick Preslar of Midland, Scott Preslar of Springfield, Mo., and Zachery Preslar Of Waco; and 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Randell Wells of Scottland, Ark.; sisters, Jessie Kelton of Plano and Celia Thompson of Wylie; numerous nieces and nephews are also survivors.
