April 29, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ Joy Armstrong ODESSA — Joy Armstrong of Odessa passed away Thursday, April 27, 2000, at the age of 70. She was born May 18, 1929, to Bud and Mary McCurdy in Beaver County, Okla. She married Wayne Armstrong July 28, 1948, in Beaver County, Okla. They moved to Odessa in 1954. Joy was a devoted wife, mother and a friend to all. She gave and was given great love to her family at Second Baptist Church. She was a member of Odessa Chapter 447 of The Eastern Star, past Grand Visitor for the Order of Rainbow Girls and enjoyed her time working at Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Mary McCurdy; and her sister, Mar-ion Buxman. Joy leaves as her survivors her husband, Wayne Armstrong of Odessa; son, Matthew Armstrong and his wife, Misty, of LaMargue; daughter, Kathy Hammonds and husband, Joe, of Spring; five grandchildren, Jenna Hammonds, Adam Hammonds, Josh Brady, Kyla Armstrong and Krista Armstrong; sister, Bernice Buxman of Canon City, Colo.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2000, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Troy officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2000, at Madison Cemetery in Bea-ver County, Okla., with the Rev. Olin Bullard officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Crowson, Jack Herrington, S. L. Craighead, Jack Pierce, Glen Clemons and Gene Her-zog. The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and technicians who cared so lovingly for Joy over the past few months during her illness. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church, 711 E. 17th St., Odessa, TX 79761. Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Loga 'Pat' Golden ODESSA — Loga "Pat" Golden, 62, of Odessa died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2000, at Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord with the Rev. Preston Weatherly officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gar-dens. She was born Oct. 21, 1937, in Coalgate, Okla. She married Felton Golden in 1954 in Odessa. Mrs. Golden moved to Odessa in 1947 from Coalgate, Okla. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1955. She was the owner of The Gingerbread House Day School. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord and the Ector County Republic Women's Party. Survivors include her hus-band, Felton Golden of Odessa; son, Bradley Golden and wife, Jill, of Odessa; daughter, Dr. Teresa Golden of Denton; and two grandchildren, Trenton Ray and Toby Golden, both of Odessa.
