May 11, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA — Services for Alvin J. Squire, 78, of Odessa are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday at Eisenhower Church of Christ, 21st Street and Eisenhower Avenue, with Eddie Parrish and Burt Groves officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Mr. Squire passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2000. He was born March 10, 1922, in Cleveland, Ohio. Survivors include his wife, Wilma Griffin Squire; his son, Robert Nelson "Bobby" Squire and his wife, Nancy, of Houston; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of dear, loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Squire was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie Williams Squire (mother of Bobby) in 1949; second wife, Faye McCown Squire in 1994; his parents, William and Jean Squire; one brother, Russel Squire; and two sisters, Virginia and Lois Squire. Mr. Squire was a member of the Eisenhower Church of Christ, serving through the years as an elder, deacon, teacher and song leader. He was also a member of the Board of Directors for Odessa Christian School for 18 years. He has been a resident of Odessa since 1947, and was employed by the Ector County Independent School District as a teacher, vice-principal and principal for 35 years until his retirement in 1982. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Odessa Christian School. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. _________________________________________________________________ Christopher Eaton ODESSA — Christopher Eaton, 71, of Odessa died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bobby Phillips officiating. He was born Sept. 2, 1928, in Henryetta, Okla. He married Rita Riddle Feb. 21, 1957, in Clovis, N.M. Mr. Eaton had lived in Odessa for 40 years. He had been a salesman and store manager for Sooner Pipe and Supply. He was a member of Vine Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Rita Eaton of Odessa; son, Bobby Don Eaton of Austin; daughters, Debbie Crawford of Brandon, Fla., and Carrie Smith of Copperas Cove; brother, Bill Eaton of Odessa; sister, Joyce Johnson of Tahlequah, Okla.; four grandchildren, Misty and Amy of Brandon, Fla., and Ashley and Whitney of Florence; and four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Aaron, Kera and Emory, all of Brandon, Fla.
