May 13, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA — Joe Thomas Dutton, 83, of Odessa passed away Friday, May 12, 2000 at Medical Center Hospital after a short illness. He was born October 30, 1916, in Bailey, Okla. to Wesley Davis "Wes" and Jewell Monds Dutton. Mr. Dutton moved to Odessa in 1962 from Crane. He retired from Mobil Oil Co. after 35 years of service. He married Anecia F. Whitley August 21, 1938. She preceded him in death in 1980. He also was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Sammie Lee Dutton, and a brother, Orville Bryant Dutton of Marlow, Okla. He is survived by a son, Tommy Joe Dutton of Marshall, daughters, Melinda J. Dutton Couch and husband George of Odessa, Anna Jewell Dutton Summers and husband Lloyd of Kirbyville, TX., Alecia N. Dutton Howard and husband John of Clyde, TX; three brothers, Theodore Roosevelt "Ted" Dutton of Porterville, CA, Raymond Wesley "Ray" Dutton of Conyers, GA and Vern Wesley Dutton of Penn Valley, CA; three sisters, Reba Rebecca Dutton Romeri, Thelma Jewell Dutton Neff and Bessie Ruth Dutton Eldridge, all of Porterville, CA; 14 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 14, 2000, at Colonial Gardens Cemetery, Marshall, TX. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Michael Todd Couch, Bryan S. Couch, Randy Songer, II, Jeff Colvin, Jr., Bron T. Dutton, and Tommy Ray Swanson. Honorary Pallbearers, Thomas Dutton, Marcus Dutton, David Hall, Jr., Sammy Hall and Leslie Langley.
