May 17, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA — Edith Iva Greenlee was born Jan. 16, 1901, in New Madrid, Mo., to Jess and Lula Hinkle Bean. Edith went to be with her Lord Monday, May 15, 2000, in Odessa. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with her grandson Alvin Neal officiating. Mrs. Greenlee was a longtime resident of Odessa. She had lived in Fort Worth for five years before returning to Odessa last October. She married Homer Greenlee on May 25, 1918, in New Madrid, Mo. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Greenlee in 1985; and a daughter, Zelma McCulloch, in 1997. Survivors include her son, Elmer Greenlee of Hot Springs, Ark.; her daughters, Charolette Lynn of Lubbock and Annette Stephens of Odessa; sister, Veda Crain of Sikeston, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the Home Hospice Staff, especially Charlotte and Rhonda. The family request’s memorials to be made to Home Hospice of Odessa. Services are under the care of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Don Nolen Don Nolen, 73, of Bogata and formerly of Kermit died Sunday May 14, 2000, in Clarksville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2000, at Grace Temple Baptist Church in Kermit under the direction of Cooper Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Kermit Cemetery. Mr. Nolen was born Oct. 18, 1926, in Cunningham, the son of Joseph Floyd and Maudie Lee Cooper Nolen. He married the former Billie Spears Aug. 30, 1947, in Kermit. He was retired from Bass Enterprises where he worked for over 20 years as a gang pusher. He is survived by his wife, Billie Nolen of Bogata; son and daughter-in-law, Donald Nolen and his wife, Janice, of Smithville; grandchildren, Marvin Wayne and Cassie Lee Nolen; and three great grandchildren C.J. Nolen, Patrick Lee Smith and Jacob Andrew Smith.
