May 20, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ L.E. "Buz" Garrett MONAHANS — L.E. "Buz" Garrett, 72, of Monahans died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at his residence. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Box officiating. Burial will be in Barstow Cemetery. He was born Nov. 3, 1927, in Pecos. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired in 1990 as a technician from Southwestern Bell Telephone. He was a member of the Monahans Eastern Star since 1968 and a member of the Masonic Lodge since 1962. He was a past member of the National Guard. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Monahans. He is survived by his sons, Larry Garrett of Monahans and Clayton Garrett of San Diego; daughters, Kathy Deaner of Santee, Calif., and Sharon Garrett of Lakeside, Calif.; brothers, Bill Garrett of Fontana, Calif., and Wayne Garrett of Miles City, Mont.; and five grandchildren.
