Clark, 77, of Odessa died Saturday, June 10, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. today, June 13, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dean Kelm officiating. She was born June 16, 1922, in San Antonio. She married Woody Clark on Nov. 4, 1939, in San Antonio. He preceded her in death in 1993. Also preceding her in death were her twin brother, Dossie L. McDonald of San Antonio; and a sister, Roberta Muelschen of Irving. Mrs. Clark came to Odessa in 1946 from San Antonio. She was a retired waitress and a Lutheran. Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Pittman of San Antonio; son, William E. "Bill" Clark and wife, Jeanne, of New Castle, Calif.; four grandchildren, Michelle Vitanza of San Antonio, Tara Fernandez and Bret Clark, both of Sacramento, Calif., and Leslie Pitman of Houston; one great-granddaughter, Juliana Vitanza of San Antonio; and lifelong friends, R.Q. and Jeannie Wolsch of Odessa. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA Lucille Cornelius, 86, of Odessa passed away Sunday, June 11, 2000, at her residence. She was born Aug. 13, 1913, in Butler, Mo. Services will be 11 a.m. today, June 13, 2000, at Highland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. David Ring officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Cornelius moved to Odessa in 1947 from San Angelo, where she was the first civilian operator of the PBX at Goodfellow Air Force Base. In 1948, she married Cotton Cornelius in Odessa. She was a member of Highland United Methodist Church. She loved to shop and travel. She was a past member of the V.F W. Survivors include her husband, Cotton Cornelius of Odessa; daughter, Joann Cornelius of Odessa; and sister, Earlene Ray of Odessa; a niece, Patricia Ray of California; sisters-in-law, Lorene Day of Odessa, Emma Jean Cornelius of Odessa, Jeanettie Cherry and her husband, Pete, of Odessa and Carlene Burns of Odessa. Burial will be in Gladewater Memorial Park under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of Gladewater. Mrs. Henderson was born July 29, 1921, in Talco, and she died Friday, June 9, 2000. She and her husband were owners of The Corner Store in Overton. She is survived by her son, John "Dickie" Henderson of Vanderwagen, N.M.; six daughters, Jackie Tolan of Washington D.C., Gina Polly of Elyria, Ohio, Mary Strickland and Stacie Henderson, both of Grand Prairie, Rhonda McPherson of Arp and DeeAnn Mullens of Caldwell; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Theral Gandy of Gladewater; and sister, Thelma Kennedy of Pritchett. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Green and Fannie Iona Gandy; husband, C.J. Henderson; two grandsons; one great-grandson; and one great-granddaughter. She died Sunday, June 11, 2000, at her residence in Odessa. She was born May 14, 1935, in Loraine, Texas, to Paul and Vada Lee Pace. She married Charlie McCormick on Dec. 23, 1953, in Andrews. Claudine and her husband moved to Odessa in 1977 from Hobbs, N.M. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Odessa. Survivors include her husband, Charlie McCormick of Odessa; sons, Charles Blake McCormick of Kannapolis, N.C., and Douglas DeWayne McCormick of Santa Fe, Texas; daughters, Rebecca Gail Tinsley and Sandra Lee McCormick, both of Odessa; brother, David Paul Pace of Andrews; five grandchildren, Steven McCormick and Justin McCormick, both of Kannapolis, and Ashley McCormick, Christopher McCormick and Courtney McCormick, all of Gladewater. Texas Ave., Odessa, TX 79761. _________________________________________________________________ Johnnie Morgan STANTON Johnnie Morgan, 88, of Rankin died Saturday, June 10, 2000, in a McCamey nursing home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton with the Rev. Jim Medley of First Baptist Church in Rankin officiating. He was born Oct. 16, 1911, in Elm Mott, and married Helen Petree on Dec. 24, 1933, in Stanton. He was a retired farmer, farming in the Greenwood Community of Midland County, also Upton, Gaines and Yoakum counties. Mr. Morgan was a member of First Baptist Church in Rankin, where he served as a deacon and head usher. He also served his churches in other communities on pulpit, finance and building committees. As a resident of Midland County, he was a member of the Farm Bureau for many years and also was on the board of directors of the Midland Co-op Market Association Inc. and supported 4-H programs through the auction of the animals. Survivors include his wife, Helen Morgan of the home; sons, Robert Morgan and wife, Uvonne, of Plains, Kenneth Morgan and wife, Glenda, of Stillwell, Okla., and Don Morgan of Midland; daughter, Patsy Northcott and husband, Darrel, of Rankin; sister, Imogene Turner and husband, Alton, of Pleasanton; brother, Joy C. Morgan of Stanton; ten grandchildren, Eddie Morgan and wife, Mary, of Yokosuka, Japan, Carrie Orel and husband, Ken, of Midland, Roger Morgan and wife, Teresa, of Midkiff, Kenna Fults and husband, Mike, of Joaquin, Craig Morgan of Teague, Michael Northcott and wife, Lori, of Sugar Land, Marcy Claxton and husband, Chuck, of Colorado City, Randall Morgan and wife, Shannon and Brian Morgan and wife, Jennifer, all of McKinney; and Terry Morgan of Midland. "Bill" Simmons ODESSA Thomas O. "Bill" Simmons, 69, of Odessa died Monday, June 12, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Dec. 18, 1930, in Eastland. He was a U.S. Marine Corps. veteran and was awarded two purple hearts for service during the Korean conflict. He worked for many years in the oilfield and several years for the Gordon Independent School District before moving to Odessa in 1990. He married Leitha Simmons on Sept. 7, 1990. He loved golfing and coffee with his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Aflred and Floy Agnes Simmons; and brothers, James Roscoe and Bobby Jack Simmons. Survivors include his wife, Leitha of Odessa; daughter, Elaine Templeton of Odessa; stepdaughters, Carolyn Hamilton, Gayla Walker and Rhonda Mahan, all of Odessa, and Linda Myers of Anchorage, Alaska; stepsons, LindeIl Foster of Birmingham, Ala., Nelson Campbell of Gordon and Richard Campbell of Strawn. He is also survived by sisters, Juanell Diaz of Midland, Noma Lee Spradling of Eastland and Patsy Winchell of Decatur; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
