June 14, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ Ruby Faye Handy ODESSA Ruby Faye Handy, 62, of Odessa died Sunday, June 11, 2000, at St. Lukes Hospital in Houston. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Odessa Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. She was born Sept. 13, 1937, in Odessa. She married Melvin Handy Dec. 22, 1961, in Odessa. Mrs. Handy was a lifelong resident of Odessa. She graduated from Rice University in 1959. She was an elementary teacher for the Ector County School District from 1960 to 1991. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, Mike Handy and wife, LaDonna, of Odessa, Steven Handy and wife, Kay, of Oklahoma City; brother, Charles Beason and wife, Nelda, of Odessa; brother-in-law, Johnny Royal of Camas Valley, Ore.; sisters, Peggy McAnally and husband, Kenneth, of Odessa, Dorothy McNeil and husband, Elray, of Pasadena, Texas, and Faye Broshears and husband, Bill, of Cape Coral, Fla.; four grandchildren, Genene Handy, Reese Robbins, Michael Handy and Brooke Robbins. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Claudine McCormick ANDREWS Services for Claudine McCormick, 65, of Odessa will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2000, in McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harrold Harrison, pastor of First Baptist Church in Whiteface, Texas, officiating. Burial will be at Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home. She died Sunday, June 11, 2000, at her residence in Odessa. She was born May 14, 1935, in Loraine, Texas, to Paul and Vada Lee Pace. She married Charlie McCormick on Dec. 23, 1953, in Andrews. Claudine and her husband moved to Odessa in 1977 from Hobbs, N.M. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Odessa. Survivors include her husband, Charlie McCormick of Odessa; sons, Charles Blake McCormick of Kannapolis, N.C., and Douglas DeWayne McCormick of Santa Fe, Texas; daughters, Rebecca Gail Tinsley and Sandra Lee McCormick, both of Odessa; brother, David Paul Pace of Andrews; five grandchildren, Steven McCormick and Justin McCormick, both of Kannapolis, and Ashley McCormick, Christopher McCormick and Courtney McCormick, all of Gladewater.
