June 26, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA Florene L. Gardner, 81, of Odessa passed away Saturday, June 24, 2000, in a local nursing Home. Mrs. Gardner was born Sept. 18, 1918, in Oklahoma. She had been a long time resident of Marble Falls, Texas, and moved to Odessa a few years ago. She was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Marble Falls and was a member of the Methodist church. She married Walter R. Gardner Dec. 19, 1936. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1981; and also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tammy Lynn Lamberton. She is survived by two sons, Freddie Gardner of Odessa and Lonnie Gardner of Alvin, Texas; daughter, Virginia Lamberton of San Diego; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2000, in the Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA William Allen Triplett, 74, of Odessa died June 24, 2000, at his home in Odessa with his family present. Mr. Triplett had a very successful career as an insurance agent with A.U.L. Insurance Company. Informal memorial services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Temple Baptist Chapel in Odessa. He was born Oct. 16, 1925 in Oklahoma City. William was the son of Erbin Eugene Triplett I and Velma Laura Turner. He had two brothers, Erbin E. Triplett and Jackie Triplett. They all preceded him in death. He married Louise Matilda Williams on Sept. 29, 1948 at First Christian Church in Oklahoma City. They had three children, Mark Allen, Tracy Ann and Kevin Scott. Louise preceded him in death at age 50 in May 1980. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard on a destroyer escort during World War II and then graduated from Oklahoma City University with a degree in accounting. He married Virginia Gay Jones on Jan. 1, 1981. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge in Goldsmith. Survivors include his wife, Gay, of Odessa; two sons and their wives, Mark Allen and Nilsa Triplett of Plano, and Kevin Scott and Stacy Triplett of Round Rock; one daughter, Tracy Ann Triplett of Austin; one stepson, Jack L. McMahan of Colbert, Okla.; one stepdaughter and her husband, Leslie Ann and Steve Timmons of Lubbock; five grandchil-dren, WilliamMark and Catherine Louise, both of Plano, Jesse Lyn and Amy McMahan, both of Colbert, Okla. and Ian Chase Timmons of Lubbock; one great-grandson, Aaron Lane McMahan and two special cousins, Jack and Stephanie Rahm. Other special people he leaves behind are friends, Fayne and Betty Shead, Jess and Lois Chisum, Bob and Sue Bybee, Mike and Ocee Moore, Red and Cly Flenniken, Fritzi Heron and Ralph Lewis. A heartfelt thanks to Dr. James K. Burks and staff at Texas Tech University Health Science Center, Dr. Timothy George and staff at West Texas Cancer Center and the staff at Community Care Hospice.
