Rios, 56, of Odessa, a preschool teacher and daughter of the late Eva Martinez, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Eisenhower Church of Christ with Eddie Parish officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. A prayer service was held Saturday. Mrs. Rios was born to Abraham and Eva Martinez on May 18, 1944, in Big Spring. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Rios; her mother, one brother and grandparents. Survivors: Son, Martin Rios of Odessa; daughters, Amparo Rios, Belinda Barrera, Emma Nuger and Destiny Chavez, all of Odessa; father, Abraham Martinez Sr. of Brownsville; brothers, Victor Martinez of Odessa, Sammy Martinez of Houston, Joe Luis Martinez of Kingsland, Pete Martinez of Houston and Abraham Martinez Jr., of Waco; sisters, Manuela Rodriguez, Esmeralda Romero, Eloisa Esparza, Delores Sanchez, all of Odessa, Angie Mitchell of Tyler and Lupe Degan of Greenville, N.H.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. _________________________________________________________________ Cruz Imelda Lujan ODESSA Cruz Imelda Lujan, 35, of Odessa, a restaurant cook, died Friday, July 21, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. Mrs. Lujan was born to Francisco and Elva Valles on Aug. 23, 1964, in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. She married Elizardo S. Lujan Sr., in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Saint Josephs Catholic Church with the Rev. Fidelo Lugo officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel. Survivors: Husband, Elizardo S. Lujan Sr. of Odessa; sons, Eleud Lujan, Elizardo Lujan Jr., and Obed Lujan, all of Odessa; daughters, Zaira Lujan of Odessa; father, Francisco Valles Sr. of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico; mother, Elva Valles of Odessa; brothers, Luis Valles, Isael Lujan and Francisco Valles Jr., all of Odessa, and Mario Valles of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico; sister, Alma Rosa Hernandez of Odessa; and three grandchildren. _________________________________________________________________ MIDLAND Billy Dean Jones, 72, of Tularosa, N.M., passed away Friday, July 21, 2000, in Alamogordo, N.M. Mr. Jones was born June 10, 1928, in Stonewall County. He was a longtime Odessa resident, living here from 1966 to 1992 when he moved to New Mexico. He retired from Energas after 20 years as a service specialist. He married Mary L. Schlemeyer on May 25, 1984, in Odessa. He loved many hobbies including archery, photography, square dancing and playing the fiddle. He was Baptist. He was preceded in death by his father, Alton Jones and a brother, Hubert Jones. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jones of Tularosa, N.M.,; two sons, Kevin Jones and his wife, Tara, of Webster and Kenneth Jones and his wife, Patsy, of Abilene; one stepson, Brandon Purcella and his fiancée, Rochelle George, of Chandler, Ariz.; two stepdaughters, Karen Ghaffari and her husband, Shahir, of Centerville, Calif., and JuLynn Jones of Roswell, N.M.; his mother, Opal Jones of Hamlin; one brother, Clifton Jones and his wife, Doris, of Odessa; one sister in law, Lavada Jones of Rotan; five granddaughters and three stepgrandchildren. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2000, at Belmont Baptist Church with the Revs. Eugene Ray, Rex Clayton, Dave Ratzlaff and Amon Langston officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. Services are under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Jim Hooper, Ralph Thompson, Bob Maddux, Albert Hill, Gilbert Evans and Robert Bradshaw. Honorary pallbearers will be James Stovall, James Ed Chaney, Dusty Lathem, Paul Cox, Charles Duke, George Schlemeyer and Carl Schlemeyer. Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Ruth C. Farris, 80, of Longview, formerly of Odessa, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview. She was born September 3, 1919, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Jerry and Martha Campbell. Ruth moved to Longview in 1995, where she resided with her sister, Winifred Rutland. She was a licensed beautician and a licensed vocational nurse. She taught Sunday school and was a former president of the Ladies Auxiliary. Ruth wrote poetry and was an inspirational person. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed greatly. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 24, 2000, at First United Pentecostal Church in Odessa, with speakers, including, the Revs. J.T. Pugh and Terry Pugh, both of Odessa and A.D. Spears of Longview. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Ann Wilson of Odessa; one sister Winifred Campbell Rutland of White Oak; one grandson, Mark W. Wilson of Odessa; three granddaughters, Marcia Weddel of Longview; Elizabeth Parekh of Odessa; Laura Goodwin of the Dallas area; eleven great-grand children and one great-great grandson. Her husband, Mark D. Farris, a son, Jerry D. Farris and her great-granddaughter, Rachel Wilson, preceded her in death. She leaves a host of Pentecostal brothers, sisters and friends.
