August 14, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ MORROW, ARK. Mary Lois Tapp, 76, died Aug. 9, 2000, at her home in Odessa. She was born in Hawley to Oscar King and Jessie Ada Phillips. She married Stacy D. Tapp on July 20, 1942 in San Diego, Calif. They lived and loved together for more than 31 years. They enjoyed traveling, fishing, bowling and golf. She retired from the Bank of America as manager in El Cajon, Calif., after 20 years. They moved to Kingsland to be near her sister, Irene Flood, and to care for her mother. They then moved to Gentry, Ark., in the early 1980s where they bought a farm. After Stacys passing, Mary moved to Buchanan Dam to be with her sister before they both moved to Odessa to live out their remaining years. She was a devoted Christian, donating to numerous charities and community churches. Survivors include one nephew and his wife, Gaylord and Anne Flood of Weatherford, Okla.; one niece, Linda Ham and her husband, Homer, of Odessa; one great nephew, David Flood of Texas; two great nieces Stacey Plaxco and Keri Murphy both of Texas; one great-great-niece Katelyn Plaxco of Texas; cousins, Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Phillips, J. Charles Phillips and Greg Phillips, all of Nashville, Tenn. Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at Edmiston Cemetery in Morrow, Ark. with the Revs. J. Charles Phillips and Greg Phillips officiating.
