August 23, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA Gracie Allene Frazier, 70, of Bridgeport and formerly of Odessa, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2000, at Crescent Care Center in Bridgeport. She was born Jan. 10, 1930, in Munday. She moved to Odessa from Midland in the mid-50s and married Grady Frazier Jr. in 1953. She was a retired legal secretary, having worked in the law offices of Paul McCullom, and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady, in 1988 and daughter, Martha Frazier. Survivors include a son, Grady Frazier III and his wife, Karen, of Lubbock; three grandsons, Joseph Michael, Grady Paul and Dallas Brody Frazier. She is also survived by her mother, Ollie Stone of Chico and sisters, Sherry Manning of Chico, Barbara Akin of Amarillo and Betty Willis of Oregon. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Hugh Akin officiating. Arrange-ments by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. (www.wilsonfuneral.com) _________________________________________________________________ Jackie Nell Chaney ODESSA Jackie Chaney, 68, of Odessa, died Aug. 21, 2000, at her residence. She was born Dec. 29, 1931, in DeLeon to Andrew and Mae Dell Champion. A resident of Odessa for over 60 years, she was a graduate of Odessa High School and attended Odessa College. She married Floyd N. Chaney June 14, 1952, in Odessa and was a Methodist. She was preceded in death by a brother, Autry Bruce Champion. Survivors include her husband, Floyd Chaney; son, Randy Chaney and his wife, Jeanette; and daughter, Robbie Schwartz, all of Odessa. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Marci Chaney, Laurie Chaney, Crystal Anderson, Mandy Naron and Danny Schwartz; and sister, Barbara Little and her husband, Charlie. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, at Colorado City Cemetery in Colorado City with the Rev. Jake Chaney officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. (www.wilsonfuneral.com) _________________________________________________________________ John Lamar Rhodes ODESSA Services for John Lamar Rhodes, 77, of Odessa, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Rhodes died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Sept. 16, 1922, in Jasper, Fla. He married Norma Blaskey March 13, 1969, in Andrews. Mr. Rhodes had lived in Odessa since 1955. He served in the Army in Italy during World War II. He was employed with Southwest-ern Bell Telephone Company for 33 years and retired in 1982. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Rhodes. Survivors include his wife, Norma Rhodes of Odessa; son, Benny Rhodes and wife Nancy of Clyde; stepson, Glenn C. Blaskey and wife Sonya of Odessa; stepdaughter, Gayle Ali and husband Sam of Odessa; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
