September 17, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ Julia Ann Hartman ODESSA Julia Ann Hartman, 67, of Odessa, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born on Oct. 5, 1932, to Preston and Annetta Bailey. Julia grew up in Santa Anna and attended Texas Womens University. Julia is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Lanelle Bailey of Granbury; her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Joe Hough of Odessa; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Steve and Lisa Hartman of Opelousas, La., Gary and Francine Hartman, David and Robin Hartman, and Daniel Hartman, all of Austin. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Mary Hartman of New Orleans, La., Stephen Michael Hartman of Opelousas, La., and Brian Hartman, Matt Hartman, Joseph Hough, Rachel Hough, John Hough and Wendy Ballard, all of Austin. Julia was an active member in her church, the Sixth and Jackson Church of Christ, and in the local community. She served for many years as a dedicated volunteer in the Make-A-Wish Foundation, her church prison ministry, the Odessa Rape Crisis Center, and was very active in the Police Athletic League, Volunteers In Policing, Planned Parenthood and Harmony Home Childrens Advocacy Center of Odessa, from which she recently retired. Julia worked tirelessly for her church, community, and family and loved them all dearly. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at Sixth and Jackson Church of Christ in Odessa with Don Turskey officiating. Julia will be buried in her hometown of Santa Anna at 5 p.m. Monday under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Julias memory to the Odessa Police Athletic League and Harmony Home Childrens Advocacy Center. _________________________________________________________________ Louise "Aunt Lou" Weathersby ODESSA Louise "Aunt Lou" Weathersby, 82, of Odessa passed away Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born March 13, 1918, in Brownwood. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Robert Scofield officiating. Mrs. Louise married A.B. "Shorty" Weathersby in March of 1939. They moved to Odessa in the early 1950s from Brownwood. She was a member of Bethany Christian Church for over 40 years. She loved to spoil her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Perry Lynch and Gladys DeMorrow Lynch; her husband, "Shorty" Weathersby; and brothers, Kenneth, Bill and James Lynch. She is survived by one sister, Bettie Thomas of Odessa; three nieces who she thought of as daughters, Connie Moonen of Gardendale, Carol Theesfield and Carrie Nelson, both of Odessa. She is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and two great-great-nieces and nephews.
