October 15, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ Leo F. Blythe ODESSA Leo F. Blythe, 76, of Odessa died Oct. 5, 2000 in Tel Aviv, Israel. He was born Aug. 17, 1924, in Fisher County. He married Elizabeth Wallis June 14, 1952, in Abilene and they moved to Odessa from Sweetwater in 1954. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and had been associated with French Tool and Supply and later with B-Line Filter Company at the time of his death. He was a deacon and the Sunday school director at Crescent Park Baptist Church and a member of the Odessa Downtown Lions Club, where he was chaplain and a past district governor. He was also a Gideon. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Blythe; and his parents, James and Alma Blythe. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth of Odessa; brother, Boyd Blythe; sisters, Norene Chism, Jimmie Bennett and Peggy Hall. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, at Crescent Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Johnny Dickerson officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. L "Pat" Patton, 69, of Odessa passed away Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, in a local hospital. He was born March 1, 1931, in Paris. Pat moved to Odessa in 1954 and was a retired oilfield consultant. He married Eva Pickett on Oct. 12, 1978, in Midland. He is survived by his wife, Eva Patton; three sons, James T. Patton and his wife, Jan, Timothy Lynn Patton and his wife, Brenda, and Tony Wayne Patton and his wife, Beverly, all of Odessa; three stepchildren, Jacky Pickett, Sandra Turner and Patsy Estes, all of Odessa; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cory Ross officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
