October 29, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries Obituaries Index Home _________________________________________________________________ [102900cracken.jpg] Betty Beatrice Bea McCracken ODESSA Betty Beatrice "Bea" McCracken, 82, of Odessa died Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born Feb. 20, 1918, in Abilene and had been a resident of Odessa since 1953. She married Zilman "Ace" McCracken June 8, 1941, in Abilene. She worked at the Ector Theater as a cashier for 15 years and loved old movies, crossword puzzles and gospel music. She was loved by everyone and will be missed. She contracted polio at the age of 7 and fought all her life to be independent. She had courage, strength, and faith. She was a member of the Nazarene Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ace McCracken; and grandson, Brian Rasmussen. Survivors include her son, James McCracken and wife, Kaye of Odessa; daughter, Kathy Grandalia and husband, Sam, of Odessa; grandsons, Shannon James Mc-Cracken, Stephen Mc-Cracken and Scott Rasmussen. She is also survived by great-grandsons, Cody McCracken and Gage McCracken; and a great-granddaughter, Rilee Rasmussen. The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. James O. Otterness officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. He was born March 27, 1930, to Ramundo and Francisca Lujan in Marfa. His parents preceded him in death. Mr. Lujan served in the Korean War, serving as a tank commander. He married his wife, Otilia Martinez in Marfa on April 27, 1953. He was also a member of the Eagles Lodge. Rosary will be said today, Sunday, October 29, 2000, at 7:00 P.M. at the Sunset Memorial Chapel. Services will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2000, at 1:00 p.m. also at Sunset Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Otilia Martinez Lujan of Odessa; sons, Ramundo Lujan, Antonio Lujan, and Uvaldo Lujan, all of Odessa, and Frederick H. Lujan, Jr. of El Paso; daughters, Grace Lujan, Silvia McFall, Laura Lujan, Barbara Lujan and Ann Rameriz, all of Odessa; sisters, Lupe Venegas of Marfa, and Margarita Reyes of Odessa; 15 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at West Park Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses with Eric Herminson officiating. He was born in Sweetwater and had been a resident of Odessa before moving to Midland in 1985. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Jo Ayers Free of Odessa; sons, Larry Dean Free of Prescott Valley, Ariz., and Tracy Lynn Free of Odessa; daughter, Marsha Villa of Pleasant Farms; brother, Doyle Free of New Deal; sister, Darlene White of Lubbock; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
