November 23, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA Services for Royce Nevelle Everett, 76, of Odessa will be at 4 p.m. today at Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord with the Rev. Preston Weatherly officiating. Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Miss Everett died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at her residence. She was born Sept. 10, 1924, in Madill, Okla. Miss Everett was involved with the Special Olympics for 20 years. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord. Survivors include her sisters, Norma Duff and Kathryn Young, both of Odessa; nephews, Bill Duff, Douglas Duff and Jay Young, all of Odessa; nieces, Debbie Masters of Carlsbad, N.M., and Katy Graves of Odessa; and many great-nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials to the Special Olympics. Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA Edward Ray Williams, 72, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. Mr. Williams was born Aug. 8, 1928, in Breckenridge, Stephens County. He was the son of Andrew Clint Williams and Ada Stapp Williams. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his mother and father; his stepfather, Daniel Harve Anderson; two brothers, Vernon Williams and Lloyd Williams; one sister, Mae Crowell; one grandson, Andrew Norbye. Mr. Williams is survived by Mabel Williams, his wife of 53 years. He is also survived by his four children, Bobby Williams and his wife, Debbie, of Capitan, N.M., Barbara Hurst and husband, Norman, Jackie Williams and wife, Donna, Jan Norbye and husband, Chuck, all of Odessa; eight granddaughters, Sherry Wiest and husband, Tracy, of Odessa, Lory Hurst of San Angelo, Rebecca Williams of Midland, Charlette Hull and husband, Brett, of Lubbock, Chrystal Williams of Midland, Dionna Williams, Barbie Williams of Odessa, and Jennifer Williams of Dallas; six grandsons, Cody Hurst, Joey Williams and Robby Willlams, all serving in the U.S. Navy, Jimmy Hurst, Blake Williams and Charles Norbye of Odessa; seven great-grandchildren, Ryan and Bradan Wiest of Odessa, Hadan Williams of Capitan, N.M., , Emeory Williams of Odessa and Kylee Hull of Lubbock, Alexis Williams of Hawaii, and Brian M. Wallack of Midland; two sisters, Peggy Funderburg and Doris Callihan of Breckenridge, Silvia White and husband, Red, of Odessa; and many other nieces and nephews, loving friends and fellow co-workers. Mr. Williams was a longtime resident of Odessa having moved here from Breckenridge. He started his working career in the oilfield with Norwood Drilling Company and ended his working career in 1988, after working for 35 years for TMBR-SHARP Drilling Company. During his work history at TMBR-SHARP Drilling Company, he was the teacher/trainer for his rigs new drilling recruits. Many new careers were started under the supervision of Mr. Williams. Mr. Williams was a firm believer of family and loved having his children, grandchildren, and great-children around him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Stacey Brandon officiating. Mr. Williams will be in state in his home at 3029 N.
