December 10, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ Milton Notgrass ODESSA Milton P. Notgrass, 71, passed away Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born April 28, 1929, in Ranger to T.T. and Maggie Notgrass. His parents and a daughter, Vickie Thomason, preceded him in death. Milton came to Odessa in 1946 from Dublin, Texas. He was a master craftsman and the owner of Notgrass Western Wear, and the previous owner of Western Boot & Shoe Repair. He brought many laughs into peoples lives through his brand of humor. He never met a stranger. Milton married Wanda Skiles March 31, 1978, in Abilene. He was a devoted and caring husband. Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Van Hoose officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Wanda of Odessa; sons, Jim Notgrass and wife, Belinda, of Burleson, Gary Notgrass and wife, Terri, of Holland, Mich.; son-in-law, T.J. Thomason of Odessa; daughters, Linda Kay Gray of Holland, Mich., Rene Branscum and Lisa Crosby and husband, Brian, all of Odessa; brother, J.D. Notgrass of Granbury; sisters, Doris Fair and Lucille Mosley, both of Odessa, and Mary Sharp and husband, Don, of The Colony; mother and father-in-law, Addie and Denver Newsom of Odessa; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Shirley Dumas PAMPA Shirley "Billie" Dumas, 73, of Odessa died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, in Odessa. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. John Glover officiating. Arrange-ments are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. She was born Nov. 2, 1927, in White Deer. She had been a resident of Pampa most of her life. She married J.B. Dumas in 1951. He preceded her in death April 12, 1987. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Chambliss, in 1975. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Margie Dumas of Odessa; daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Jerry Holt of New Braunfels; grandchildren, Josh, Jarod and Abby Dumas, all of Odessa, Natalie Dumas of Lewisville, Lindsey Pankey of Odessa, Kristie Holt of Nashville, Tenn., and Nicole Pankey of Dallas; niece, Kim Charles of Pampa; two great-grandsons, Tanner and Dakota Jennings of Odessa; a brother and three sisters _________________________________________________________________ Copyright © 2000 Odessa American.
