December 23, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA Thenia Fern Metcalf, 59, of Odessa passed away Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital after a lengthy illness. Thenia was born May 7, 1941, in Brownfield to Luther and Lois Hardgrave. She attended schools in Dimmitt. On March 26, 1957, she married Wayne Metcalf in Dimmitt. Wayne retired from the military, and they moved to Odessa in 1977. She was the owner of Barbaras Fashions and Little Duds. They were members of the Odessa Country Club. Thenia, known as NeeNee by her grandkids, was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with Roy Smalling of Sixth and Jackson Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Wayne Metcalf of Odessa; her sons, Nicky of Odessa, Kevin of Clarksville, Ark., Jeff and his wife Tonjua of Odessa and Lance and his wife Angela of Waco; daughters, Lori Brown and husband Paul of Duncan, Okla., and Vanessa Tucker and husband Keith of Odessa; a sister, Bessie Merrill of Lamesa; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
