December 31, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ Raymond Thomas Weatherford, 82, of Odessa passed away Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000 in his residence. He was born Sept. 2, 1918 to Milton and Arizona Weatherford in Boswell, Okla. He married Doris Snow on Nov. 28, 1945 and moved to Odessa in 1954. Mr. Weatherford served in World War II throughout Southern France and Central Europe as part of the 45th Infantry Division. He faithfully served our Lord as a charter member of Central Baptist Church. He retired from Phillips Petroleum after 30 years of dedicated service. He is survived by his beloved wife, Doris Weatherford of Odessa; son, Terry Weatherford and his wife, Eve of Temple; children, Scott, Travis and Shanna; three daughters, Jan Hewitt and her husband, Billy of Odessa, children, Christie and Chad; Nancy Schenkel of Odessa and son Cody; Becky Miller and her husband, Paul of Odessa, children Jason and Jared; two sisters, Ada Martin of San Angelo and Sue Pigg of Dripping Springs; two brothers, Milton Weatherford of Borger and Clarence Weatherford of Dumas; and seven great-grandchildren. Numerous family members and a host of friends also survive him. A celebration in memory of his life is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2000, at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. David Johnson and Hospice Chaplain Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Chad Hewitt, Scott Weatherford and Cody Schenkel; nephews, Don Witte, Richard Witte and Mike Witte. If desired, memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church or Sherwood Christian Academy or Home Hospice of Odessa. Arrangements by Frank W.
