January 16, 2001 Alma Chambers MARATHON Alma "Pud" Chambers, 84, of Marathon, a retired rancher, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at her residence. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Marathon Methodist Church with the Rev. David Cook officiating. Burial will follow at the Marathon Cemetery. Arrangements by Geeslin Funeral Home. She was born in Barnhart and moved to Marathon in 1921. SURVIVORS: Daughter, Melba C. Watson of Marathon; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Eugene Elmendorf MARFA Eugene Elmendorf, 88, of Lubbock, a retired employee of Godbold Inc. in Lubbock, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at a Lubbock medical center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Merced Cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home. He was born in Marfa and moved to Lubbock in 1980 from Marfa. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Catholic. Carole Hay ODESSA Carole Ann Hay, 58, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at Hospice House. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. She was born in Lethbridge, Canada, and moved to Odessa in 1984 from Kansas. She was Baptist. Andrea Ochoa LOVINGTON, N.M. Andrea Urias Ochoa, 59, of Lovington, N.M., a homemaker, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, in Lovington. Vernice Quigley ODESSA Vernice Quigley, 80, of Odessa, a retired cook, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
