January 21, 2001 Melvin Boatman RISING STAR Melvin Boatman, 94, of North Richland Hills, a communications operator for T&P Railroad, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001 at The Good Place Retirement Center. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at Southside Baptist Church in Monahans. Graveside services were Saturday at Rising Star Cemetery with Terry Simmons officiating. Arrangements by Higginbotham Funeral Home. He was born in Rising Star. He lived Monahans before moving to North Ranchland Hills about three years ago. SURVIVORS: Sons, Edward M. Boatman of Sugarland and James A. Boatman of Magnolia, Del.; daughter, Nelda I. Staller of Tacoma, Wash.; brother, John Arthur Boatman of New Orleans; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Bessie Clements CISCO Bessie Helen Clements, 92, of Graham, a homemaker, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at Graham Oaks Care Center. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Finfrock officiating. Arrangements by Chambers-Wilcox Funeral Directors. She moved to Odessa from Cisco in 1944. In 1973, she moved to Arlington before moving to Graham in 1992. She was Baptist. SURVIVORS: Sons, John Clements of Graham and Walter Clements of Arlington; brother, Walter Vaughn Preston of Cisco; sister, Marybelle Morgan of Cisco; and two grandchildren. Henry Hawk KERMIT Henry Archie Hawk, 80, of Wink, a truck driver, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001 at his home. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Bob Petree officiating. Burial will be at Kermit Cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Home. He was born in Branson, Colo. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Pabla Hernandez KERMIT Pabla Vasquez Hernandez, 82, of Kermit, a homemaker, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at her home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with John Lucido officiating. Burial will be at Kermit Cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Home Chapel. She was Catholic. She lived in Kermit for 29 years. He was a veteran of World War II.
