January 29, 2001 Norberto S. Rivera ODESSA Norberto S. Rivera, Sr., 74, died Friday, January 26, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. He was a farmer and became a groundskeeper at Permian High School, retiring in 1995. There will be no services locally. Funeral Services will be held this week at in Zaragoza with internment to follow at Cemetario Pancho Municipal. Arrangements by Frank Wilson Funeral Directors. He was born in Zaragoza, Coah, Mexico, June 15, 1926, and lived in Odessa since 1982. SURVIVORS: Sons, Norberto Rivera, Jr. of Mansfield, Jose Rivera, of Odessa; daughters, Janie Chavez and Irma Cardenas, both of Odessa; brothers, Pablo Rivera, Uvaldo Rivera, both of Olton, Rudulfo Rivera of Zaragoza, Mexico; sisters, Estella Valdez of Odessa, Erica Villarreal of Eagle Pass; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. Marie Ellis Redden TROY Mary Ellis Redden, 87, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, in a Temple, TX, hospital. Funeral Services will be today at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Troy. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery near Troy. Marie was born July 22, 1913, and was a lifelong resident of Troy. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Troy for 35 years.
