April 20, 2001 Edna Cook BALMORHEA Edna Cook, 91, of Big Spring, a homemaker, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at a local nursing home. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Moon officiating. Burial will follow at the Balmorhea Cemetery. Arrangements by Myers and Smith Funeral Home. She was born in Pontotoc, Miss., and had been a resident of Balmorhea. She was Baptist. SURVIVORS: Sons, Pecos Cook of Balmorhea and Jack D. Cook of Odessa; daughters, Juanita Rogers of Lubbock, Dolly Bryant and Vera Martin, both of Big Spring, and Maggie Linda Armstead of Levelland; brother, Edward Haney of Carlsbad, N.M.; sisters, Opal Barber and Vera Peterson, both of Big Spring; 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Don Doughdrill ODESSA Don Doughdrill, 88, of Odessa, a retired employee of Loffland Brothers Co., died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at Westwood Medical Center in Midland. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Rex Clayton officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. He was born in Oakvale, Miss., and moved to Odessa in 1949. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was Baptist. SURVIVOR: Son, Richard Doughdrill of Odessa. Lillian Minter ODESSA Lillian Ruth Minter, 90, of Odessa, a retired secretary for Sixth and Jackson Church of Christ, died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at Hospice House. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ector County Cemetery with Bennie Keck and Roy Smalling officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. She was born in Ranger and moved to Odessa in 1940. She was a member of the Church of Christ. SURVIVORS: Sons, Talmage Minter Jr. of Waco and Roger Minter of Odessa; three granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.
