                                Linda Hanks
   ANDREWS Linda Lee Hanks, 60, of Corpus Christi, a schoolteacher, died
     Monday, June 25, 2001, at Sunny Brook Healthcare Center in Corpus
                                  Christi.
     Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Andrews North
     Cemetery with the Rev. Robert L. Bonnington officiating. Memorial
    services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mathias Episcopal Church.
                    Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
     She was born in Le Flore County, Okla., and had been a resident of
                                  Andrews.
     SURVIVORS: Husband, Richard Hanks of Corpus Christi; son, Zachary
      Hanks of Houston; parents, R.L. and Reva Hammett of Andrews; and
                     brother, Glenn Hammett of Andrews.
                                Lorene Hyder
   ODESSA Lorene Shelton Hyder, 89, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Sunday,
                      June 24, 2001, at Hospice House.
   Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel
   with the Rev. K.M. McCarthick officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. at
   Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly
                               Funeral Home.
                     She was born in Limestone County.
   SURVIVORS: Daughters, Norvene Owen of Plainview and Rita Glasscock of
     Odessa; sons, Garth Hyder of Foster, Ore., and Mel Hyder of Jenks,
   Okla.; brothers, Clifton Shelton of Artesia, N.M., and Joe Shelton of
           Phoenix; 11 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
                                 Gene Rains
    DURANT, Okla. Gene Rains, 87, of Durant, Okla., a retired custodian,
   died Friday, June 22, 2001, at Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma
                                 in Durant.
    Services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home Chapel
     with Russell Fincher officiating. Burial was at Highland Cemetery.
                Arrangements by Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home.
    He was born in Henryetta, Okla., and had been a resident of Odessa.
   SURVIVORS: Daughter, Ranell Rains Hopkins of Houston; sisters, Lucille
     Long and Mary Stephanos, both of Dallas; two granddaughters; and a
                            great-granddaughter.
                               Mattie Staggs
     CRANE Mattie Buchanan Staggs, 78, of Odessa, a retired nurse, died
           Monday, June 25, 2001, at Avalon Place Nursing Center.
      Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home
      Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will
    follow at the Crane County Cemetery. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols
                               Funeral Home.
                      She was born in Goodrich, Tenn.
    SURVIVORS: Daughters, Pat Taylor of Paducah, Wanda Staggs and Brenda
    Johnson, both of Odessa, and Lori McCaleb of Boise, Idaho; son, Tony
    Staggs of Crane; sisters, Bertha Halbrooks of Odessa, Christine Cobb
         of Hollaway, Tenn., and Viola Biediger of San Antonio; 13
                 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
                             Barbara Utterback
     ODESSA Barbara Jane Utterback, 69, of Odessa, a retired registered
       nurse, died Friday, June 22, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
    Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at Unitarian Universalist
            Church. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
                 She was born in Detroit. She was Lutheran.
      SURVIVORS: Daughter, Wendy Hilliard of Odessa; sister, Mary Lou
                Liebler of Michigan; and five grandchildren.
