July 14, 2001 David Brunson McCAMEY David Lee D.L. Brunson, 86, of McCamey, retired owner and operator of a filling station, died Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at the McCamey Convalescent Center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ted Creech officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home. He was born in Aledo and was a resident of McCamey since 1960. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Fernando Esqueda FORT STOCKTON Fernando M. Esqueda, 74, of Fort Stockton, a retired seismographic crewman, died Thursday, July 12, 2001, in Fort Stockton. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Triunfo de la Fe Church. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home. He was born in Teague and was a resident of Fort Stockton since 1969. He was Baptist. SURVIVORS: Wife, Margarita Esqueda of Fort Stockton; sons, Juan Esqueda, Fernando Esqueda Jr., Davis Esqueda and Joe Esqueda, all of Fort Stockton; daughters, Mary Galindo and Elvira Nieto, both of Fort Stockton; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Arlene Heun EARLY, Iowa Arlene Viola Heun, 82, of Pratt, Kan., a retired farmer, died Monday, July 2, 2001, at Southwind Hospice in Pratt. Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. July 6 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. James Dieker officiating. Burial was at Early Union Cemetery. Arrangements were by Farber and Otteman Funeral Home. She was born in Breda, Iowa, and had been a resident of Early, Iowa. SURVIVORS: Sons, Darwin Heun of Halstead, Kan., Edward Heun of Fremont, Neb., Marlin Heun and Kevin Heun, both of Weatherford, and Arlen Heun of Marion; daughters, MaDonna Heun and Joan Hendrix, both of Odessa, and Glenda Pokorny of Howells, Neb.; brothers, Reinard Janssen of Elizabeth, Colo., and Marvin Janssen of Sac City, Iowa; sisters, Ardola Huisenga, Nera Zimmer and Wanda Bulten, all of Early; 21 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Ruby Weathersby ODESSA Ruby Eleanore Weathersby, 80, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Friday, July 13, 2001, at her residence. Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. David Mindel officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. She was born in Sapulpa, Okla., and moved to Odessa in 1927 from Crane. She was Christian. SURVIVORS: Husband, Hugh Weathersby of Odessa; daughter, Carla Weathersby of Odessa; sister, Shirley Thacker of Dallas; and two grandchildren. Evelyn Baker MESQUITE Evelyn Baker, 93, of Mesquite died Friday, July 13, 2001, in Mesquite.
