   Myrtle Burleson

   ODESSA  Myrtle  Marie  Burleson,  78,  of  Odessa,  a  homemaker, died
   Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at Hospice House.
   Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the
   Rev.  Cecil  Maxey  officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial
   Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
   She  was  born  in  Okemah,  Okla.,  and  moved to Odessa in 1952 from
   Oklahoma. She was Baptist.
   SURVIVORS:  Son,  Rick Roberson of Midlothian; brothers, David England
   of  Midland  and  Homer  England  of  Fort Gibson, Okla.; sister, Ruby
   Dryden of Midland; and two grandsons.

   John Clanton

   SEMINOLE  John  Elton  Clanton,  87, of Seminole, a retired farmer and
   rancher,  died  Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at Texas Veterans Home in Big
   Spring.
   Services will be at 11 a.m. today at First Assembly of God Church with
   the  Rev.  Neil  Hollis  officiating.  Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at
   Trinity  Memorial  Park  in  Big Spring. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral
   Home.
   He  was  born  in Scurry County and moved to Seminole from Vealmoor 50
   years ago. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Apostolic.
   SURVIVORS:  Wife, Loy Clanton of Seminole; daughters, Elta Sarchet and
   Paula  Vickers,  both  of  Lubbock; stepsons, Tony Greaves of Buda and
   Ricky Greaves of Arlington; stepdaughters, Melody Newsom of Falls City
   and  Marcia  Long  of  Round  Rock;  brother,  Paul Clanton of Kansas;
   sisters,  Stella  McBeth of Seminole, Mary Thomas and Hassie Anderson,
   both  of  Big  Spring; six grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; three
   great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

   Charles Covington

   ODESSA  Charles  J.  Covington,  72,  of  Odessa,  a  retired oilfield
   mechanic, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
   Services  will  be  at  3 p.m. Saturday at Odessa Funeral Home Angeles
   Memorial  Chapel  with the Rev. Jimmy Orozco officiating. Arrangements
   by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.
   He was born in Eastland.
   SURVIVORS:  Wife,  Dee Covington of Odessa; sons, Charles W. Covington
   and  Doyle  Covington, both of Odessa; daughters, Delores Alexander of
   Odessa  and  Belinda Kay Covington of Kermit; seven grandchildren; and
   four great-grandchildren.

   Lola Jumper

   ODESSA  Lola  Mae  Jumper, 73, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Wednesday,
   Aug. 1, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
   Graveside  services  will  be  at  10 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial
   Gardens  with Burt Groves officiating. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial
   Funeral Home.
   She  was born in Duncan, Okla., and moved to Odessa in 1958. She was a
   member of the Church of Christ.
   SURVIVORS: Sons, Mark Jumper of Odessa and Craig Jumper of Mena, Ark.;
   daughter, Nelda Clark of Odessa; brother, James Dodson of San Antonio;
   five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

   Gregory Sikes

   ODESSA Gregory Dillon Sikes, an infant, of Odessa died Wednesday, Aug.
   1, 2001, at Odessa Regional Hospital.
   Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Chapel with
   the  Rev.  Laura  Deaderick  officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset
   Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
   SURVIVORS:  Parents,  Brent  and  Rebecca  Sikes  of  San Antonio; and
   grandparents,  Marvin  and  Debbie  Wein  of Odessa and Clay and Terry
   Sikes of Hobbs, N.M.
