   Ella Mae Clinton
   ODESSA  Ella  Mae  Clinton, 87, of Odessa, a retired restaurant owner,
   died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, in Fort Worth.
   Funeral  services  will  be  at  2  p.m. Monday at Mount Olive Baptist
   Church  with  the Rev. Ronald Van Dyke officiating. Burial will follow
   at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
   She was born in Tyler and moved to Odessa in 1938. She was Baptist.
   SURVIVORS: Three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
   Lennie Cook
   ODESSA  Lennie  Mae  Peggy  Cook,  78,  of  Odessa,  a homemaker, died
   Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at her residence.
   Funeral  services  will  be  at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Tanglewood Church of
   Christ. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by
   Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
   She  was  born  in  Nacogdoches and moved to Odessa in 1974. She was a
   member of the Church of Christ.
   SURVIVORS:  Sons, Joe Cook and Dwight Cook, both of Odessa, and Ernest
   Cook  of  Beaumont;  daughter,  Judy Day of Dell Valle; brother, Edgar
   Rogers   of   Jasper;   sister,   Dorothy   Summa   of  Harlingen;  12
   grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
   Verda Elam
   TULSA,  Okla.  Verda  Irene  Elam, 84, of Odessa, a retired secretary,
   died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at her residence.
   Funeral  services  will  be  at  11  a.m.  Wednesday  at Boston Avenue
   Methodist  Church Rose Chapel with the Rev. Paul Mitchell officiating.
   Burial  will  follow  at  Memorial  Gardens  Cemetery. Arrangements by
   Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
   She was born in Dallas County, Mo. She was Methodist.
   SURVIVORS:  Son,  Gary  Elam;  daughter,  Phyllis  Davis of Kalamazoo,
   Mich.;  brothers, Grover Morton and Myron Morton, both of Kansas City,
   Mo.;  sisters, Fay Ensminger and Naomi Orabus, both of Baltimore, Lily
   Conner  and  Vera  Perkins,  both  of  Kansas  City,  Mo.;  and  seven
   grandchildren.
   Johnny Hawkins
   LAMESA  Johnny  Hawkins, 51, of Denver City, an operations technician,
   died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
   Funeral  services  will  be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church
   with  the Rev. Henry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Lamesa
   Cemetery. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.
   He was born in Lamesa. He was a member of the Church of God.
   SURVIVORS:  Wife,  Sharon Hawkins of Denver City; sons, Quincy Hawkins
   of  Dallas  and Key Shawn of Denver City; daughters, Schamaine Hawkins
   of  Odessa, Shahala Hawkins, Manaka Rosemond and Destiny Rosemond, all
   of Denver City; mother, Essie Hawkins of Lamesa; brother, Euel Hawkins
   of Lamesa; and sister, Velma Mason of Lamesa.
   Joe Harris
   MONAHANS  Joe  H.  Harris Jr., 70, of Monahans, a master plumber, died
   Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at his residence.
   Funeral  services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Southside Baptist Church
   with the Rev. Craig Rhoton officiating. Burial will follow at Monahans
   Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.
   He was born in El Paso. He was Baptist.
   SURVIVORS:  Sons,  Dan Lee Harris of Canyon Lake, John Henry Harris of
   New  Braunfels,  Robert  James  Harris  of  Monahans and Kenneth Wayne
   Harris  of  Fort  Stockton; daughter, Marilyn Glass of Bemidji, Minn.;
   brother,  Jim Harris of El Paso; sisters, Betty Stembridge of Katy and
   Ann Hassenbueler of El Paso; and 12 grandchildren.
