August 23, 2001 Paul Burnett Sr. CORSICANA - Paul Edward "Bunt" Burnett Sr., 81, of Corsicana, a retired employee of Shell Oil Co. in Odessa, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Dallas. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. David McGee officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements by Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. He was born in Covington and had been a resident of Odessa. SURVIVORS: Wife, Jeannine Burnett of Corsicana; son, Paul Burnett Jr. of Odessa; daughters, Barbara Burnett of Phoenix, Paulette McDougle and Claudette Johnston, both of Odessa; stepsons, Philip Lewis and Steven Lewis, both of Odessa, and James Lewis of Cleburne; stepdaughters, Lori Reese of El Paso and Jessica Weyman of Kennedale; sister, Dorothy Hardgrave of Corsicana; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Anna McGowen MONAHANS - Anna Myrl McGowen, 97, of Sherman, a retired schoolteacher, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, at a Sherman nursing home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Monahans Memorial Cemetery Pavilion with J.W. Thrasher and Ed Hammond officiating. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home. She was born in Baird. She was Presbyterian. SURVIVORS: Son, R.B. McGowen of Sherman; brother, Jack Scott of Cross Plains; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Mary Ritchey KERMIT - Mary J. Ritchey, 92, of Kermit, a retired cafe owner, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001, at Hospice House. No services are scheduled. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and was a resident of Kermit for 29 years. She was Protestant. SURVIVORS: Son, Bill DeMott of Kermit; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. George Wallace Jr. ODESSA - George Michael Wallace Jr., 36, of Midland, a truck driver, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. He was born in Wills Point and moved to Midland in 1979 from Abilene.
