Baker Jr., 76, of Deville, La., a retired oilfield personnel manager, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La. Services were Aug. 31 at Rush Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jiggs McCoy officiating. Burial was at Restland Memorial Gardens in Pollock, La. Arrangements by Rush Funeral Home. He was born in Corsicana and had been a resident of Odessa. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was Baptist. SURVIVORS: Wife, Mary Jo Adams Baker of Libuse, La.; son, Leland Baker of Pineville; daughter, Barbara Pearson of Satsuma, Ala.; brother, Robert Baker of Lubbock; sisters, Elouise King of Princeton, Athenia Pierce of Breckenridge and Doris Graham of Eastland; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Lloyd Chappell BARSTOW - Lloyd Chappell, 69, of Pecos, a retired equipment operator for Texas-New Mexico Power Co., died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at his residence. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Barstow Cemetery with the Rev. J.R. Wooten officiating. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home. He was born in Lindale and was a lifelong resident of Pecos. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was Presbyterian. SURVIVORS: Sons, Lloyd Chappell Jr. of Pecos, Curtis Chappell, Craig Chappell and Larry Chappell, all of San Angelo; brothers, Edward Chappell of Arlington and Farris Chappell of Abilene; sister, Dee White of Colorado City; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Roberta Mahan ANDREWS - Roberta Adams Mahan, 89, of Elgin, a retired dispatcher for D.A. & S. Well Service Co. in Andrews, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, in Austin.
