October 28, 2001 James Espy FORT DAVIS - James "Big Jim" Espy, 91, passed away on Friday, Oct. 26, 2001 in an Alpine hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bart Coan Field football field in Fort Davis with the Rev. Jim Stevens officiating. Dr. Alan Byrd will be assisting Stevens. A private family burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Fort Davis. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home. He was born on May 26, 1910 in Fort Davis. He was Presbyterian. SURVIVORS: wife, Pansy Espy of Fort Davis; daughters, Patsy Smith, of Hobbs, Jean Everett of Fort Stockton, and Ann Duncan of Dallas; son, Jim Espy Jr. of Fort Davis; sister, Tommie Williams of Fort Davis; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. R.L. Hughey STANTON - R.L. Hughey, 82, of Odessa, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, in Odessa. Graveside funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with the Rev. Arnold Tonn officiating. Arrangements by Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home. He was born on Oct. 17, 1919 in Howard County. SURVIVORS: Wife, Maxine Hughey, of Odessa; sons, Arion Hughey, of Phoenix and Norman Hughey, of Odessa; brother, Donald Hughey, of Grandbury; sisters, Wanda McNew and Kathleen Hughey, both of Stephenville; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Etta J. Sims AMARILLO - Etta J. Sims, 53, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001 in Amarillo. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev.
