Abbott of Mineral Wells. Vera Brown LUBBOCK - Vera Mae "Babs" Brown, 87, of Lubbock, a retired piano teacher, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, in Lubbock. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marisue Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements by Resthaven Funeral Home. She was born in Graham and was a resident of Lubbock for 47 years. She was Methodist. SURVIVORS: Husband, Wayne "Tramp" Brown of Lubbock; daughters, Teena Brown of Ava, Mo., Betty Jane Johnson of Odessa and Billi Barrera of Corsicana; and five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Marie Roberts MARATHON - Marie Roberts, 76, of Marathon, a retired administration employee at Marathon schools, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Midland. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Marathon Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Brunk officiating. Arrangements by Geeslin Funeral Home. She was born in San Antonio and moved to Marathon in 1936. She was Methodist. Alex Romero LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Alex E. Romero, 51, of Odessa, a car sales manager, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, in Tucson, Ariz. He was born in Las Cruces, N.M., and was a resident of Odessa for 11 years.
