January 14, 2001 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ Karen Anne Seals Boone ODESSA Services for Karen Anne Seals Boone, 54, of Lewisville are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Antioch Christian Church with the Rev. Don Fankhauser officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Boone passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. She was Born Dec. 20, 1946, in Mineral Wells and married James "Jim" Boone Dec. 19, 1970, in Odessa. Karen moved to Odessa in 1947 from Mineral Wells. She enjoyed spending time with family, volunteering as a den mother and a band parent and she was a great cook. She spent time working with arts and crafts and also worked at the Antioch Christian Church library, where she was a member from 1973 to 1992. Then she and Jim moved to Lewisville where they were members of North Point Christian Church. Survivors include her husband, James L. Boone of Lewisville; mother, Lucille G. Seals of Odessa; sons, Terry C. Boone of Dallas and James L. Boone of Joplin, Mo.; daughters, Kimberly D. Boone of Las Vegas and Rebecca M. Boone Jones of Lewisville; brother, Vernon M. Boone Jr. of Odessa; and granddaughter, Heather M. Arnada of Odessa. The family suggests memorials be made to Vocal Majority, P.O. Box 29904, Dallas, Texas 75229. Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Michael David Earney BURNET Michael David Earney, age 70, recently of Burnet, passed away gently after a lengthy illness Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001. Born in Breckenridge in 1930 to F.I. and Edna Earney, Michael graduated from Breckenridge High School. He went on to receive a bachelor of arts degree from North Texas State College in Denton, a master of arts degree from Michigan State College and a law degree from Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tenn. He practiced law primarily in Odessa where he also served as assistant county attorney, county attorney and county judge. Mike is survived by a daughter, Kay Hubbard, and her husband, David, of Burnet; a grandson, Aaron Hubbard, also of Burnet; and two stepdaughters, Kimberly Woerner of Crossplains and Kathy Eoff of Zephyr. He is also survived by brother, Franklin Earney Jr. of Fort Worth and sisters, Georgine Lawson of Lake Charles, La., Frances Jenny of San Jose, Calif., Kay Treadwell of Bakersfield, Calif., and Pansy Hurt of Lubbock. Private services are planned. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Parkinsons research or the church or charity of your choice. Arrangements by Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. _________________________________________________________________ Vernice Quigley ODESSA Vernice Quigley, 80, of Odessa, passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. Mrs. Quigley was born in Brazos County to Jessie and Betty Hunter. She grew up in Bryan and worked as a cook for many years for Cunninghams Restaurant in Houston. Mrs. Quigley came to Odessa in May 1985, where she did much volunteer work with the Odessa ARC. She was a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church in Odessa. Mrs. Quigley was very active with the Southside Senior Citizens Center. Her family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Odessa Association of Retarded Citizens. Mrs. Quigley was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. Quigley Sr. and her parents. She is survived by four sons, Arthur L. Quigley of Lakeview Terrace, Calif., Sammy Quigley of Bossier City, La., and Anthony Quigley of and John Quigley, both of Odessa; four daughters, Denae Penson of Panorama City, Calif., Melva Lee and Rosie L. Quigley, both of Austin, and Georgia K. Quigley of Odessa; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at St. Matthew Baptist Church with the Rev. Anthony C. Slack officiating.
