January 30, 2001 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ [INLINE] Albino Aranda III ODESSA Albino Aranda III, 19, of Odessa died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Jan. 31, 1981, in Odessa. He was a student. He was Catholic. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 30, 2001, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anita Rodriguez. Survivors include his father, Albino Aranda Jr. of Odessa; stepmother, Maria Aranda of Odessa; grandparents, Albino Aranda Sr., Alfredo Rodriguez and Eva Rodriguez, all of Odessa; sisters, Marisol Spencer and Eve Aranda, both of Odessa; stepsister, Andrea Davila of Odessa; and stepbrother, Abelardo Davila of Odessa. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Norberto S. Rivera Sr. ODESSA Norberto S. Rivera Sr., age 74, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born June 15, 1926, in Zaragoza, Coah., Mexico, to Pablo and Maria Rivera. He was raised in Zaragoza, moving to Doole in 1960. He came to Odessa in 1982. Mr. Rivera was a farmer most of his life but became a groundskeeper at Permian High School, retiring in 1995. Mr. Rivera is survived by two sons, Norberto Rivera Jr. of Mansfield and Jose Alfredo Rivera of Odessa; two daughters, Janie Chavez and Irma Yolanda Cardenas, both of Odessa; three brothers, Pablo Rivera and Uvaldo Rivera, both of Olton, and Rodolfo Rivera of Zaragoza; two sisters, Estella Valdez of Odessa and Elvira Villarreal of Eagle Pass; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no funeral services locally. Funeral services will be held this week in Zaragoza with interment to follow at Cemen-terio Pancho Municipal. Arrangements are by Frank W.
