Cook, 75, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at Avalon Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Dick Brown officiating. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. Alfred was born Jan. 27, 1926, in Tahoka to Lizzie Ora and William Frank Cook. He married Helen Lynette Munn on June 10, 1954, in Big Spring. He was a retired auto mechanic and a longtime member of Crescent Park Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II. Alfred was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, T.J. of Post and Frankie of ODonnell; and three sisters, Melba Cook and Martha McKay of Draw and Ileta Vinyard of Tahoka. Alfred is survived by his wife, Helen of Odessa; seven children, Jim Cook and wife Debby of Midland, Doug Cook and wife Cindy of Bastrop, Travis Cook and wife Dawn of Austin, Joan Lee and husband Jerry, Nita Denny, Paul Cook and wife Nancy and Malinda Woody and husband Bert, all of Odessa; 19 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. _________________________________________________________________ [INLINE] Parish Victor King ODESSA Parish Victor King, 81, of Granbury passed away Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at a Granbury nursing home. He was born March 2, 1919, in Downsville, La. He married Velma Walters in 1989 in Stephenville. Mr. King was a retired rancher and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia King, and a brother. Survivors are his wife, Velma King of Granbury; two sons, Leonard King of Odessa and Victor King of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Ruth Meier of California and Mary Hennington of Odessa; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ [INLINE] Kelli Malone ODESSA Kelli Margo Malone, age 38, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at her residence after a brief illness. She was born Dec. 28, 1962, in Odessa to Bill and Coita Malone. A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 23, 2001, at the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with Judge Jay Gibson officiating. Kelli spent the last 20 years working in the legal field as a legal secretary and assistant. She was a graduate of Midland High School and attended Odessa College. Kelli was a generous and true friend, and she will be missed by everyone who knew her. She was also a champion of animals, large and small, giving a loving home to those she could and finding a safe place for those she couldnt. She is survived by her parents, Bill and Coita Malone of Odessa; grandmother, Fay Sanders of Hobbs, N.M.; half brothers, Fred Malone of Tulsa, Okla., and Ron Malone of Roswell, N.M.; and half sisters, Peggy Lee Anderson of Tularosa, N.M., and Cindy Wegman of Charleston, W. Va. She also leaves behind her companion, Troy "T.C." Cantrell, and his children, Jeremy, Michael and Kari. She was born Feb. 24, 1949, in Pecos. She married Richard Munoz on Aug. 7, 1976, in Pecos. Mrs. Munoz moved to Odessa in 1975 from Pecos. She was a nurses aide. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and she was also a member of St. Marys Legion of Mary. She is survived by her husband, Richard Munoz of Odessa; son, Andrew Munoz of Odessa; stepson, Ricky Munoz of Wichita Falls; daughter, Lisa Munoz of Odessa; four brothers, Manuel Chabarria of Fort Worth, Domingo Chabarria of Pecos, Jose Chabarria of Wylie and Jesus Chabarria of Gonzales, La.; three sisters, Leonarda Dominguez of Irving, Anna Gifford of Odessa and Lupe Villela of Pecos; and two grandsons, Matthew Alvarez and Tyler Munoz. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 23, 2001, at St. Marys Catholic Church with the Rev. Mathew Chackalackal officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at the Petrol Cemetery in Reeves County.
