March 07, 2001 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ [INLINE] Richmond E. Dublin ODESSA Richmond E. Dublin, 85, passed away Monday, March 5, 2001, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Midland. He was born Feb. 6, 1916, in Jacksonville to W.L. and Nettie Dublin. Before serving in the Navy during World War II, he attended Annapolis Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. He married Billybob Newburn in Jacksonville, Fla., June 19, 1943. Richmond and Billybob moved to Odessa in 1950 where he was involved in the petroleum business until his retirement. He served as a church deacon at First Presbyterian Church where he was a member, a Boy Scout master and a Meals on Wheels volunteer. He loved his wife, family and friends and always saw the positive in each person he knew. Survivors include his wife, Billybob, of 58 years; sons, David and Richie and daughter-in-law, Phyllis; daughter, Vicki and son-in-law, Kae Patrick; and grandchildren, Holly, Amanda and Adam. Family visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. today, March 7, 2001, at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Jesse Cone officiating assisted by the Rev. Sherry Holloman and burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice. Services entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ [INLINE] Joan Lee Ingram ODESSA Joan Lee Ingram passed away quietly Monday evening, March 5, 2001, after a short illness. She was born Dec. 15, 1931, in Atchison, Kansas. She married Wm. F. Ingram, May 24, 1951, in El Paso. Since the 1950s Joan has privately tutored individual students. After working in several small schools, and Fine Arts Day Care and Kindergarten, she opened the Montessori school of Odessa in the Fall of 1975. She has touched many young lives over the past 40 years. Joan is survived by her husband Bill; three sons and family: Jules (Buddy) and Debbie Ingram of Houston, Steven Ingram and Clay Ingram, both of Odessa and Tonia Chance of Midland; four grandchildren: Julie, Cole, Clayton and Sterling; cousins, coming from Glynn Ellen, Ill. Hobie and Ruth Mary Porter. She will be greatly missed by us all. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord, 21st and Grandview Ave. with the Revs. Preston Weatherly and James Otterness officiating. The family request donations be made to: The American Cancer Association or Home Hospice of Odessa. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ [INLINE] Betty Joyce Price CARROLLTON Betty Joyce Price, 63, of Carrollton passed away Monday, March 5, 2001. She grew up on a farm in Kansas and had a degree from Kansas State in home economics and chemistry. She was a county extension agent in Kansas, and then raised her family before working for the City of Dallas WIC program as a nutritionist. Besides having a busy social life, Betty loved the theater, opera, traveling, playing cards, arranging flowers, patio gardening and loved animals, especially her dog Beethoven. Betty was strong in her faith and spent quality time in church activities ranging from wedding coordinator, choir member and small group leader. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who touched many lives and will be greatly missed but always remembered. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Myers and her husband Robert of Southlake, Texas; son, Randy Price and his wife Glenda of Princeton, Texas; four grandchildren; brother, John William Weseloh of Carmel, Ind.; sister, Martha Wiegert of Colorado Springs, Colo.; special friend, Ron Knoll; and numerous other family members and friends. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Rhoton Funeral Home with her funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2001, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Carrollton and burial to follow at Hilltop Cemetery.
