He passed from this life to begin his new life with Christ on Monday, April 23, 2001. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 53 years, Hazel Ruth Diffee Cozart; his four children and their spouses, Linda Jane and Mike Coskey of Big Spring, Joe-Eddie Wayne and Rhonda Cozart of Odessa, Penny Emaline and Don Bateman of Midland and Kelly Ann and Ronnie Schneider of San Angelo; nine grandchildren, Chuck and Clark Coskey of Big Spring, Joseph and Tammy Cozart, also of Big Spring, Joe-Eddie and Crystal Cozart of Midland, Vonnie, Billy-Joe and Robba-Lee Cozart of Odessa, Jennifer Bateman, also of Odessa, and Kathy Schneider of San Angelo; four great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mary Beulah Sister Mershon, Ila Faye Toodie Hankins and Bobbie Joe Brokaw, all of Bowie; and his brother, W.B. Dub Cozart of Fort Worth. He was also loved and will be missed by many special nieces, nephews and friends. Bill married Hazel Ruth Diffee on Nov. 21, 1947, in Bowie; in his own words, The best, sweetest and most beautiful girl in the world. They moved to Iowa Park in 1961. He was employed by E.W. Moran Drilling Co. for 19 years as a tool pusher. In 1973, he accepted a position with Jake L. Hamon and moved his family to Midland. Bill retired as district operations manager for Hamon Operating in May 1989. After retirement, he started a business buying and selling used tools and tinkering in the flea market business. He taught himself to run a computer and worked intensively with his nephew and other family members to trace the familys genealogy. He and Hazel adopted a very special cat named Fred whose adoration for Boog was mutual. They were the very best of buddies. Boog was the youngest of eight children and was preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny Luck Cozart, Carlos Son Weldon Cozart and Luster Dewitt Dee Cozart. He had only the fondest of memories of his very special parents, Mama and Papa, and the sweet, simple life they provided for him and his brothers and sisters. Boog gave his gentle strength and forever loving devotion to his own family and to friends who knew him well. Although we will dearly miss his smiles, his winks, his humor and hugs, we will always hold precious memories of him in our hearts. Our family wishes to express our tremendous gratitude to the wonderful people of Home Hospice of Midland and the Hospice House of Odessa whose compassionate care was a true blessing to us all. In lieu of flowers, we would like to request that memorials be made in our loved ones name to Hospice House Foundation for Home Hospice, 903 N. Sam Houston, Odessa, Texas, 79761. _________________________________________________________________ Copyright © 2000, 2001 Odessa American. All rights reserved.
