April 27, 2001 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ William H. Good LUBBOCK William H. Good, 44, of Lubbock, formerly of Odessa, died Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2001, at The Lubbock Group, 5603 Aberdeen Ave., north side of South Plains Mall, in Lubbock. He was the analytical instrumentation specialist for the chemistry department at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Survivors include his wife, Ellen Gene Todd-Good; son, Alexander Devin Good; mother and father, William D. and Doris Good; sister, Dee Dee Good and her son, Christopher Conrad; his brother and wife, Terry and Tina Good and their children, Johnathan, Phillip and Rebekah Good; brother and his wife, David and Glenda Good and Davids son Coby Boyles; and maternal grandmother, Ima Lee McBroom. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William D. Good, Betty Jean Wilmore and A.D. Willmore; and maternal grandfather, Hobert McBroom. _________________________________________________________________ Bill Wilson ODESSA Bill Wilson, 87, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001. He was born to John and Laura Wilson Dec. 12, 1913, in Chicota. He married Josie Robinson Nov. 2, 1935. Bill worked 19 years at Potash Mines in Carlsbad, N.M., and moved to Port Gamble, Wash., in 1967. He worked for Pope and Talbot Sawmill for 16 years and retired in 1983. He and his wife moved to Alaska for two years. They then moved back to Bremertan, Wash., and stayed there until 1995. They then moved to Ada, Okla., until they came to Odessa in 1999. He is survived by his wife, Josie Wilson of Odessa; sons, Carl Wilson and his wife Edna of Odessa, Wayne Wilson of Hoodsport, Wash., and Bobby Wilson and his wife Shirley of Ada, Okla.; daughter, Janet Marshall and her husband Greg of Belfair, Wash.; sister, Pearl Hyatt of Arther City; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two stepgranddaughters; five stepgreat-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. He was a longtime member of the Baptist Church. He especially loved to fish and go out in his boat. He and his wife loved to go camping. Bill was a devoted husband and father. A memorial service has been set for 2 p.m. today, April 27, 2001, at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association. Services by Odessa Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Randy Helm ODESSA Randolph William Helm, age 48, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at the Medical City Hospital in Dallas. He was born Aug. 31, 1952, in Beeville. He came to Odessa in 1958. He graduated from Permian High School in 1970. He married Nancy Aug. 11, 1981. Randy worked for Rexene for a short time before joining the Air Force in August 1971. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant in October 1977. After the service, he went back to work for Rexene and later owned a hotshot service. He was formerly the safety supervisor for Montgomery Trucking Co. He was a former member of the Ector County Sheriffs Posse and a member of Temple Baptist Church. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clydell Chapman of Northside Baptist Church officiating. A military graveside will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Helm of Odessa; daughters, April Carman and husband Brent of Odessa and Angela Luxton and husband Jesse of Odessa; parents, Robert and Irene Helm of Midland; sister, Dusty Baker of Midland; three grandsons, Mackenzie and Tanner Carman and Tatum Luxton; four nephews; and a niece.
