May 03, 2001 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ Morris Dennis Hart ODESSA Morris Dennis Hart, age 83, of Odessa died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born May 25, 1917, in Stonewall County. Graveside services will be at held at 2 p.m. today, May 3, 2001, at Aspermont Cemetery in Aspermont with the Rev. Bobby Earl Hart officiating. Mr. Hart married Virginia Baker in Medford, Ore., in 1944. They moved to Odessa 27 years ago from Seagraves. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Western in 1982. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Hart of Odessa; nephews, Bobby Hart, Dennis Hart and Milburn Bransford; and nieces, Sue Richardson, Rose Marie Simmons, Cheryl Sentel, Karen Van Patton, Shirley McCree, Jerri Cole and Dian Hart. Throughout Morris life, he touched a lot of people with his kindness and heart-felt chuckle. He will be missed by many. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. (www.wilsonfuneral.com) _________________________________________________________________ David E. Lawrence MIDLAND David E. Lawrence died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, in Midland. A visitation has been set from 6 to 8 p.m. today, May 3, 2001, at Ellis Funeral Home in Midland. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2001, at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Palmer officiating. David E. Lawrence was born Aug. 21, 1934, in Quitman to Owen and Jewell Lawrence. He graduated from Quitman High School June 1, 1951. David was the high school senior class president, three-year high school football letterman and a pilot for 20 years. Mr. Lawrence served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1955 as an aviation structural mechanic, last stationed at Sanford, Fla. He then served on reserve status from 1955 to 1960. Dave worked in the Permian Basin oil fields after leaving the Navy, last working for Bob Keating as an aircraft mechanic in Odessa. On Dec. 21, 1991, he married Mildred Louise Blewett in Odessa. David was a member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. David was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, JoAnn Lawrence. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Louise Lawrence of Midland; his three sons, David K. Lawrence of Tomball, Jesse Blewett and his wife Leta of Midland and Vernon Andrew Blewett of Odessa; his daughter, Brenda K. Lawrence of Odessa; his six brothers, Owen Lawrence of Quitman, John Lawrence of Mineola, Jerry VanDusen of Houston, Walter VanDusen of Mesquite, Kenneth VanDusen of Grand Prairie and Bill VanDusen of Odessa; a sister, Martha Jo Morris of Odessa; two grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. _________________________________________________________________ Copyright © 2000, 2001 Odessa American.
