May 06, 2001 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ Para Pee Wee Burrow ODESSA Para Eugene Burrow, age 85, of Odessa, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. Pee Wee, as he was known to his friends, was born on Sept. 28, 1915, in Fayetteville, Ark., to Daz and Grace Karr Burrow. He married Creonne Powell on April 20, 1940, in Hobbs, N.M. They came to Odessa in 1941 and were members of Chapel Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Burrow was formerly employed, for many years, with Phillips Petroleum and later owned and operated Pee Wees Phillips Service Station. After retiring from the service station business, he went to work for West Texas Office Supply as a salesman. Pee Wee was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 955 and was an avid fisherman. He was a very generous and unselfish person, always ready to help others. Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell of Home Hospice officiating. Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A family visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday night from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Creonne Burrow; a sister, Maxine Martin of Odessa; a nephew, Louis Edward Burrow of Odessa and a host of other family, friends and loved ones. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Lung Association or the Alzheimers Association. _________________________________________________________________ Ryan Kale Holland ODESSA One special baby, Ryan Kale Holland, was born May 3, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital to Brian Holland and Emily Buchanan Chamness, both of Big Spring. Ryan Kale went to be with his Jesus on May 3, 2001. We only had you for a few precious moments, but you will be in our hearts forever. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa. Services were entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Survivors include his parents, Brian and Emily; grandparents, Phil and Karen Woods of Ackerly, Marla and Joe Hensley of Odessa, and Jody Buchanan of Odessa; great-grandparents, Harold Jordan of Odessa, Bill and Bonnie McKelvie of New Castle, and Edna and Dean Holland of Big Spring; and great-great-grandparents Edith Simmons of Snyder and Marie Cashen of Rotan. _________________________________________________________________ Joe Handy Taylor KAUFMAN Services for Joe "Handy" Taylor, 92, of Kaufman were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Brent Gentzel officiating. Interment will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home of Kaufman. Mr. Taylor was born Aug. 9, 1908, in Abilene to the late William Henry and Lillie Adline Taylor and passed away May 3, 2001, in Kaufman. He had lived in Odessa for 44 years before moving to Kaufman in 1983. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kaufman. He was married to the former Aileen A. Jordan on Oct. 13, 1940, in Monahans. His daughter, Joyce Aileen Taylor, preceded him in death in 1959. Survivors include his wife, Aileen Taylor of Kaufman; sons, Marshall Taylor of Mesquite and Curtis Taylor of Los Angeles; grandsons, Brent Taylor of North Richland Hills and Kris Taylor of Mesquite; great-grandchildren, Lane Marshall Taylor of Allen, Mason Dean Taylor of North Richland Hills and Kacie Lynn Taylor of Allen; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. _________________________________________________________________ Copyright © 2000, 2001 Odessa American.
