May 26, 2001 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ William A. Bill Adkins ODESSA William A. Bill Adkins, age 87, of Odessa died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Manor Park in Midland. He was born Oct. 21, 1913, in Homer, La., to Floyd and Fannie Adkins. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, May 26, 2001, at Crescent Park Church of Christ with Paul Smith officiating. Interment will be Monday, May 28, 2001, in Magnolia, Ark. Mr. Adkins married Margaret Stevens Nov. 9, 1941, in Magnolia. They moved to Odessa in 1944. He was a member of Crescent Park Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Adkins of Odessa; son, William H. Adkins of Plano; daughter, Mary M. Richman of Odessa; granddaughter, Leanne Richman of Odessa; grandsons, Andrew W. Adkins of Centerville, Va., Matthew D. Adkins and Joel S. Adkins, both of Plano; and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. (www.wilsonfuneral.com) _________________________________________________________________ Kenneth Wayne Stacker ODESSA Kenneth Wayne Stacker, age 51, of Odessa passed away Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. He suffered a heart attack following a severe asthma attack Tuesday, May 22, 2001. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, May 26, 2001, at the chapel of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with the Rev. David Ring, pastor of Highland Methodist Church, officiating, assisted by Matthew Williamson. Family members will present special songs. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Wayne was born Feb. 1, 1950, in Ralls to Claude Henry Mutt and Lillian Audrey Williamson Stacker. He was a bachelor and was preceded in death by his father, Mutt Stacker, Nov. 30, 1982, in Odessa. Stacker moved to Odessa in 1953 from Brownfield. He was a Methodist. Stacker Wayne, as he was lovingly called by younger cousins in early years, graduated from Odessa High School in May 1968. He attended Odessa College on a drama scholarship for two years and also attended San Antonio Junior College. He acted for two years at the Globe of the Great Southwest Theatre at its inception and on numerous occasions through the years. He also performed at the Mansion Dinner Theatre, designed sets at Odessa College and had worked as a substitute teacher in the drama department at Permian High School. Stacker began band in seventh grade and was an outstanding member of the Odessa Bronchos Band. He was also very active as a member of the OHS choir and his love of music continued as a profession. Stacker is survived by his mother, Lillian Stacker of Odessa; uncles, Kenneth Williamson of Amarillo, Tommy Williamson of Pecos, Ed Stacker of Wills Point and Harlin Hunter of Ralls; aunts, Helen Williamson of Ralls, Margie Williamson of Pecos, Blanche Shannon of Weatherford and Mavis Brock of Redding, Calif.; and numerous cousins. Chosen pallbearers are Danny and Clifton Williamson of Amarillo, Mark Williamson of Katy, Matthew Williamson of Pecos, Mace Williamson of College Station, Miles Williamson of Houston, Sid Williams of Fort Worth and Bob Gibson of Hollywood, Calif. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Wallace Eugene Norris ODESSA Wallace Gene Norris, age 72, of Odessa went to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born July 13, 1928, in Seminole, Okla., to Charles and Mary Norris. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, May 26, 2001, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. J.C. Owen officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Norris married Jo Wanda Stricklen Sept. 5, 1963. He served in the Army and was an industrial mechanic. He is survived by his wife, Jo Wanda Norris of Odessa; daughters, Tammy Ward and husband Chris of Odessa and Lynn Bryant and husband Teddy of Oklahoma; son, Mark Norris and wife Terry of Cross Plains; stepson, Gary Nelson of Lake Jackson; brother, Don Norris; sisters, Ann Martin and Bernice Cloutier; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
