June 22, 2001 Permian Basin Obituaries Stella L. Henderson ODESSA Stella L. Henderson, 80, passed away at her residence Thursday, June 21, 2001. She was born May 10, 1921, in Morris, Okla., to Columbus and Lola Norwood. She was a pastry cook for the Ector County Independent School District. She married Wayne Henderson on Oct. 5, 1940, in Morris. She is survived by longtime friend and companion, Ben Swinney of Odessa; two sons, Ronnie Henderson of Odessa and Steve Henderson of Denton; two daughters, Judy Briley and husband, Dee, and Dianne Norwood, all of Odessa; three brothers, Sherman Norwood and Joe Norwood, both of Odessa, and Paul Norwood of Chico, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Pugh and Derrick Killim officiating. The family would like to thank Community Care Hospice of Odessa for their loving care. Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Anita Lambert MIDLAND Anita Lambert, 80, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Deerings Nursing Home. She was born in Hope, Ark., on Nov. 11, 1920. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife, loving sister and a steadfast friend. She came to Odessa in 1945 from Arkansas. She married Eddie Lambert on May 20, 1942, in San Francisco. She was a member of AARP and Woodman of the World. She is preceded in death by a son, Eddie Eugene Lambert. Survivors include her husband, Eddie Lambert of Odessa; brother, Leo T. Bray of Whitney; sister, Grace Dutton of Ashdown, Ark.; and great-grandchild, Anita Faye Lambert of Midland. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery in Midland with Curtis Brewer officiating. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ C. Tony Ruiz Jr. McCAMEY C. Tony Ruiz Jr., 62, of Odessa died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at his residence. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2001, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Barry McLean officiating. Graveside services will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Tony was born Aug. 6, 1938, in Shafter. He lived in Odessa for 22 years. He was an Air Force veteran. He married Jeraldine Marie Snyder on March 17, 1979, in Las Vegas. He retired from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin as a maintenance supervisor. He was a member of the PAGA Golf Association and the Elks Club. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Esperanza Molina Ruiz, and a brother, David Ruiz. He is survived by his wife, Jeraldine Jeri Ruiz of Odessa; his father, Celedonio Ruiz of McCamey; two sons, Rene Ruiz and his wife, Virginia, and Tony Ruiz and his wife, Kim, all of Odessa; two grandsons, Cameron Ruiz and Carson Ruiz, both of Odessa; brother, Pete Ruiz of Odessa; three sisters, Maggie Luna and Teresa McKee, both of McCamey, and Estella Ruiz of Odessa; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Joe Salgado, David Acosta, Albert Ochoa, Rene Saenz, Justin McKee and Jim Prementine.
